If Benning isn’t able to move out any contracts, can he just send Sutter to the AHL to get cap compliant. Put Ferland on LTIR and then call Sutter back up within like a day so he doesn’t have to leave the team?

I had a dream I was watching a game from next season and there were about 2,000 fans in attendance, all spread out one-by-one, with about 6 seats in between each fan. Weirdly enough, no family groups.

Canucks have over $10M in salary cap with Ferland on IR. It is not a salary cap issue. Benning is being limited by management in how much money he can spend. He also did not want to hand out 4-6 year deals because it does not align with the rebuild plan. Most of the potential targets for Canucks wanted term. As far as Stecher goes, there was simply no room for him here. It's time to see if the prospects can do better. I don't believe the Canucks are going to take as far a step back as you all think.

Okay so Tampa is quite cap-strapped and we are in a position to capitalize.
They have 5mil in cap space to sign a combination of whatever 5 RFA's and 5 UFA's they want to keep.
These RFA's include Stephens, Cirelli, Verhaeghe, Cernak, and Sergachev.Some of those players are worth the picks.
