Don't like to judge, but (this left me NO choice in the matter). Dude at the gym. Yo. Hat on backwards, (nothing wrong with that, except when paired with...). Super short shorts + low hanging wife beater. Strutting around like a proud peacock, but not in a friendly way. Thug like. Plunks himself on the ab machine, immediately pulls out his phone, strikes a blue steel pose, then starts playing his pecs. You know the move...contract one, then the other, rapidly, in succession. Rinse, repeat. Too much, bro. I have to leave now, you're awesomeness is killing me...

@Master Mind I'm still feeling like Hischier should be the #1 pick this year, due to the injuries and the way he carried the Swiss at the WJC. Might be a standalone opinion, but it's one I feel strongly about.

Yeah, that's not a good comparison. You can't just pull random stats like that and say they're similar. There are multiple factors that play into this.
For example, Colorado is dead last in the league. Based on points the Canucks are almost 2 times better than the Avs (1.77x better to be exact.). The Canucks have scored 2.43 GPG and the Avs have scored a league low 2.02 GPG. MacKinnon has been apart of 0.36 of all Avalanche goals whereas Horvat has only been a part of 0.27 of all Canuck goals. If the Avalanche had scored the same amount of goals as the Canucks Mackinnon would be on pace for 40.32 points which would put him at 18th in overall NHL scoring - definitely a ranking where the league's elite scorers sit at.
I'm hoping you didn't mean to compare them directly, but this is just not even close in my mind and couldn't leave it alone.

How do people legitimately think that Toronto/Columbus will do better than us?

Toronto got much better with people like Marner, Matthews, and Andersen joining the club. On D, I'd expect Reilly to be better this year, Zaitsev to perform, and Carrick to exceed expectations. I expect Bobrovsky to have a bounce back year for Columbus, Bjorkstrand to score a lot, and Werenski to provide stability/offense on the back end. I can see why people would say that.

Best prospect group in the league is for sure Arizona. Keller, Dvorak, Fischer, Garland, Macinnis, Merkley, Perlini, Samuelsson, Strome, Chychrun....that's not even including the players that had breakout seasons last year (Domi/Duclair).
As far as the Canucks go, yes our prospects are good - but it has yet to be seen what level of prospects they are. Right now they pale in comparison to players like Ehlers, Conner, and Laine that Winnipeg has as far as elite players go. (This is just my opinion of course.)

Auston Matthews always looks so indifferent to everything happening around him.
Meanwhile Laine seems to act like a human being and not a robot.
The Europeans, they are taught to have fun and celebrate good things. North Americans are taught that you should be considerate to others and not come across as gloating or "showing somebody up".
Our superstars lack any personality as they don't want to upset the uptight bunch of people who care far too much about such things. This is the same reason why PK Subban rubs people the wrong way yet Jonathan Toews is praised for being the good ol' Canadian boy. We do a good job of stifling charisma and candidness here.

I now have about 4 or 5 trolls that do everything they can to derail the subject of the post to make them about me rather than the subject line.
Apparently that is okay with the moderators, hence this latest thread that was dealing with events of the day with minimum personal input to start, which got high jacked anyway and then closed off, by you, a moderator.
Why aren't these poster's, whose contributions are mostly ridiculing the author's, be disciplined?
This thread lasted what? 15 minutes? What if I had an entire story line that I was proof reading prior to adding to the thread.
It would be nice to get an answer.

IMO the Canucks will lose Sbisa or Hansen at the expension draft. We know Sbisa wont be protected and Hansen will only have 1 year left, I dont see the Canucks protecting him. Best guess is Sbisa is the player the Canucks lose
