Losing With Pride
Hasek was one of the best goalies in the history of the NHL... Or.... The luckiest man in the world. How many Vezinas and Hart Trophies did he win? Yeah .... exactly.
-Vintage Canuck-
His agent did not know if any negotiations are going on, but according to Hasek: “My agent, Ritch Winter, knows what I want,” Hasek said. “We’re working and will see how it goes, I don’t know. It’ll probably be decided in June.”

Losing With Pride
2 Hart Trophies, 6 Vezina Trophies, 2 Lester B. Pearson Awards, 3 William M. Jennings Trophies, three more Hart nominations, and another Lester B. Pearson nomination -- all with the Buffalo Sabres. Luckiest man in the world? No. It is impossible to be recognized as one of the league's MVPs for five of six years, and the league's best goaltender for six out of eight consecutive years by just being lucky. He was always competing with Martin Brodeur and Patrick Roy, and between 1992 and 2001, did not have as good of a team in front of him. Still, he has appeared in the Stanley Cup Finals with each team he has played for. The only final push needed was having a better team in front of him, which is what he received when he joined the Detroit Red Wings. That said, I don't think he has his reflexes anymore. He was looking particularly slow when he last played in the NHL in 2008. He did achieve a record of 27-10-3 that year, though.
