swflyers28 Posted April 9, 2013 Share Posted April 9, 2013 Elias and Brodeur are the longest tenured Devils, not Salvador. Elias lacks a mean streak I think and Marty can't be captain. Monty Posted April 10, 2013 Share Posted April 10, 2013 My understanding is that Salvador was named captain because he is currently playing for the Devils. Didn't really make sense for them to make Keith Yandle their captain. Geez, he's captain because the coaching staff and the players feel that he represents their team better than anyone else.
