Canuck Surfer
I think I prefer Simon Gagne? Yes an injury risk, does not supply as much grit or size... But Morrow is not exactly a solid bet to play 82 games. Gagne is more dynamic defensively. Burrows / Kesler / Gagne gives Kesler two speed demons who can fore check, are gifted passers and can chip in goals as well. He's also more dynamic offensively. Or he could play with the Twins. It makes us closer to the speed and skill Chicago model than Boston, where Morrows was not going to win series for us based on size? Oh well; we'll see. Happy to get either really... And neither are more likely.

Mangoes
he would be a good 4th line winger: Morrow- Richardson-Weise
DownUndaCanuck
I'd take Morrow over any of these crappy rookies right now. Guys like Weise, Shinkaruk and Sestito don't belong in the NHL just yet, Morrow does.

Ghostsof1915
If Schroeder is out for a fair amount of time that could give us the extra wiggle room to sign him?
Frazzy Desjardins
Could very well happen depending on the status of these current injuries

THERETOOL
Schroeder getting hurt actually makes our cap worse... if he wasn't hurt, he wouldn't be taking up ANY cap space because he would be in the AHL and not making enough to count against the NHL cap. If he is hurt long enough to qualify for cap relief, then we only get LTIR relief which only counts if we are right up against the cap, which we aren't. ShakyWalton
Neither situation stops us from signing Morrow though... we have the cap space for what he is going to earn this year. Here is a sample roster (note how Alberts is also demoted... which he will be if he doesn't improve his play... he wouldn't count against the cap either). FORWARDS Daniel Sedin ($6.100m) / Henrik Sedin ($6.100m) / Zack Kassian ($0.870m) David Booth ($4.250m) / Ryan Kesler ($5.000m) / Alexandre Burrows ($4.500m) Chris Higgins ($2.500m) / Mike Santorelli ($0.550m) / Jannik Hansen ($1.350m) Brenden Morrow ($2.250m) / Brad Richardson ($1.150m) / Dale Weise ($0.750m) Tom Sestito ($0.750m) / DEFENSEMEN Dan Hamhuis ($4.500m) / Kevin Bieksa ($4.600m) Alexander Edler ($5.000m) / Chris Tanev ($1.500m) Jason Garrison ($4.600m) / Yannick Weber ($0.650m) Frank Corrado ($0.599m) GOALTENDERS Roberto Luongo ($5.333m) Eddie Lack ($0.750m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $63,652,778; BONUSES: $0 CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $647,

Boudrias
His cap hit is only 600k. Him being injured won't affect our ability to sign Morrow or not.

Cyril Sneer
I would much sooner save that cap space for something we might need down the road. A lot can happen, people can emerge

DrChill
I would be happy to sign him for less than a million if u put him on the 4th and took out sestito. Otherwise no thanks. Need a center for 3/4th line. Rookie centers haven't impressed enough and missing a Schroeder who doesn't really fit that position anyways.
