brian42
If there's such thing as a hockey boner, I just got one. I don't think we need Laughton tbh since we have Horvat and Gaunce. I'd look at trying to get Couturier instead although that may seem repetitive as well. Sedin - Sedin - Simmonds Nyquist - Couturier - Kassian Higgins - Horvat - Burrows Sestito - Richardson - Archibald That is one nastyyyyyy looking forward group. that looks really good especially Higgins Burrows & the sedins are the only older players. Id have Kassian on the 3'rd line until he finds more consistency, i think Burrows will step it up at least a little

KSniper88
Teravainen is a really good prospect and has loads of skill and leadership and clutch, the hawks drafted him because he could make plays at high speed and is quite similar to Kane. I would go off the board and try Kesler for Saad and Teravainen.
oldnews
this could be one of the reasons for the Weise for Diaz trade. not that you need a reason it was a good trade regardless look at our top 6 d-men when healthy without Edler Hamhuis Bieksa Garrison Tanev Stanton Diaz Corrado next year replace Diaz for Corrado, although we could re-sign him I love the idea of trading Edler for a young forward like Schenn especially if we get a pick too. we need offence and as far as depth goes how hard is it to find 6,7,8'th defensemen the bolded part is not exactly an insignificant qualifier. I don't deal Edler without bringing a blueliner back.

KSniper88
Also Edler for Nyquist and Mantha Kesler for Saad and Teravainan Mantha is a pure goalscorer with size Saad is hardworking 2 way forward that is just improving and has skill Teravainen is that skillful sick playmaker
tonimator#19
Kesler & Schroeder to Philly for: Couturier, 1st in 2015, Laughton Edler to Detroit for: Jurco, 1st in 2014 Detroit would have a mid round pick this year but will probably be better next year. Philly will probably still struggle next year with their d corp going forward. Jurco Couturier Santorelli Sedin Sedin Kassian burrows Horvat Hansen Garrison Tanev Hamhuis Diaz/Corrado Stanton Bieksa - Our D going forward is okay so Gillis should worry about finding scoring talent to replace the sedins in the near future. - If Horvat isn't read for the NHL then we can play Santorelli on 3rd line in shut down role - Our youth going forward: Shinkaruk, Laughton, Jensen, 2- 1st round picks in 2014, 2- 1st round picks in 2015 If Gillis does this right, this could be the quickest retool ever lol

oldnews
Looking at the schedule I do not see anything being done till Wed. Due to the Tues game being a good shake out gauge for rebuild or go for it this year. So what are the thoughts on the Pen deal being leaked? I am a bit worried because of the Nonis/Dredger garbage that went down last year with the LU trade. Its that and Gillis is being played again or its a sign that we are trying to drive the cost up,hopefully the latter. Who is interested in Bolland and Kadri with far bigger fish on the market? I have to laugh - Button is pretending that Kadri and Gardiner is too much for Kesler. Toronto doesn't have the pieces to get that deal done. Simple as that. If the phone rings from a Toronto time zone, it's

KSniper88
Believe me Teravainen is the real deal, he will have way more offensive upside than Kesler and will be a superstar one day, also I just have a good feeling potential wise about Mantha the kid can score. PhillipBlunt
learn the language you speak natively, smart guy, before going insane about people using a word properly and in perfectly fine taste. numbskull. Only you would try to find a way to justify using the word rape. Your self righteous diatribe only proves your complete disregard for anything resembling tact. oldnews
Toronto lobby forgetting one important thing: Kesler has a no trade clause. As Luo put it, we know how this one ends. Luo wouldn't waive to go there. Why the hell would Kesler? Check yourself Toronto. He'd want to go to a contender, not a city with a paper bag as a signature. brian42
General manager Ken Holland, who spoke to about six fellow GMs while at the Olympics, tells MLive.com he is looking for a defenceman, but only if the price is right. “This time of year you’re always looking for defencemen, but obviously there’s a lot of teams looking for defencemen,” Holland said. “We’ll see. It depends on what’s available. I don’t see us playing a big price on a rental. I don’t believe that’s the direction we should go but you never know when you get to Wednesday.” sounds like Detroit would be a perfect fit as a trading partner for Edler especially since Edler is locked up for 4 more years at a pretty good price & considering the cap will be going up for a few more years. loook at the red wings young player/ prospects at forward Mantha Jurco Jarnkrok Nyquist Tatar Sheahan I think Nyquist & Mantha is too steep no way Holland does that but Nyquist and Shaehan would be pretty good Nyquist is already showing he's producing Sheahan to some extent as well (12 pts in 20 gp) and he's 6'2" 212 pounds I'd throw in Hansen if they want some forward depth maybe Edler & Hansen for Nyquist Sheahan & 3'rd only problem is there will be cap issues
