Lol, dejavu. Just said in the Scrivens re-signing thread Duby is a trash goalie and next thing you know, on waivers....Preds must be frustrated to some extent trading for him and realizing he sucks and now ultimately waiving him trading away assets for no result.

Or just dumping him because he's terrible.

Two days before trade deadline. Although he is a shell of his former self, this is all about freeing up cap for a trade. Now whether that's with Vancouver or not, that remains to be seen.

Absolutely. Was just reading a Pens blog talking about the Kesler trade prior to the waivers and it was almost word for word they'd have to move some current roster players rather than just prospects in order to facilitate a trade, or else send Kobasew down on waivers. Waivers it is for Kobasew.

Dubnyk's a surprise but not really. I thought he might look a little better after the deal to Nashville, but that wasn't likely to happen in only two games to adjust to their system. With Rinne back in the line up, Dubnyk loses out. He'd be a low risk, low reward pickup for a team that needs a goalie to cover for injuries or help with a backup role.
