Junkyard Dog
Still recall my drunk encounter with him at the club. I shooked his hand but I am surprised I didn't give him a big hug. I do that when I am drunk.
Lone Wolf
Good game by Jake today. Not worried about his point totals at this point. If he can maintain this level of play, the points will come. He's been one of our better forwards in the second half. 1

Signing John Carlson versus acquiring a young Dman with ceiling to go with your emerging very young squad makes zero sense. I agree Tanev has worth but would you if you were Phili trade Sanheim for Tanev ? Signing Carlson would give the blue line stability. That is what it needs. They have CAP issues in Philly and fitting in a high demand UFA versus a steady team friendly cost in Tanev may tip the scales.

I would love Sanheim, so would Tanev fit their cap and if so even more reason to sign John Carlson, Sanheim is a lefty so who are you moving on the left side or are you cleaning house

Him and Hagg would make a hell of a good 2nd/shutdown pair and open up opportunity for Prov and Gost. That would be one hell of a D core. You're about 3 years too early for a 'Carlson' signing in Vancouver IMO.

He's also waivers exempt and theoretically could play in Utica next year.
Alflives
Virtanen has been, arguably, our best player (excepting Bo) since the Boeser injury.

I expect him to play in the top 6 with PP time next year, and really start to realize some of his potential. He has been one of the lone bright spots of late. I also really like the way Stecher has been playing.

You know the website that shows all teams cap hits. Only have 59 locked up, with the cap looking to be around 78-80 and no big raises to hand out. For reference canucks have 52 locked up. That kid is as tough as they come. He’s in their battling with the biggest a nastiest.

Virtanen has quietly pulled into the top 30 NHL forwards in total hits and now is right at the edge of top 10 for hits/60 for NHL forwards. As his confidence has grown, so has his physical play. I don't know about 'coming out' but if you can have a forward who hits that often with those wheels and if he can get his shooting percentage even to 11 or 12%, this guy will be a top six mainstay and a playoff warrior. 2 2
