Former NHL'er Andre Deveaux attacks opponent before Swedish playoff game.

The team condemned Deveaux's actions and called them "unacceptable" in a team release, while also adding that after meeting with him the two sides decided to go in their separate ways.

Deveaux also released a statement on Monday, which is roughly translated below:

Goodness. Disgusting to say the least.

Can't believe anyone would ever even consider attacking the way Deveaux did.

Who cares, that guy obviously belongs in a cage if he's going to act like a damn animal. He went full Phil Kessel on him except blind-sided and quite a bit more malicious.

Deveaux...12 years of pro hockey, 33 games in the NHL, 0 goals 2 assists, 104 PIM. Yup...just another dinosaur on the edge of extinction.

Four years in the Leafs organization...need more be said about this monkey?
