selkirkcraig
... the team might change their name to the "British Columbia Canucks." Carolina and New Jersey are both named for the state, not their respective cities. I think we can all agree that Canuck fans are found in all corners of our beautiful province, not just Van. Baggins
Maybe we can be called "The Vancouver British Columbia Canada Orcan Skate Johnny Canucks". Every fan across Canada will be happy. And it just rolls off the tongue.....
IBatch
Just because you are not from or living in Vancouver does not mean your can't be a fan somewhere else....in Ottawa when the Canucks come to town around 1/3 of the Jersey's are Blue (and the rest red - almost everyone shows up with a jersey) and the go Canucks go chants start soon and keep going on and off frequently throughout the game (unlike what Rogers arena is turning into according to a recent thread). And I was born in the Kootenays, lots of fans there to. NOthing wrong with Vancouver - the first reply is funny too.
jdatb
How about the North America Canucks? I live in the USA and want to be included. Actually I know people in Asia and Europe who cheer for the Canucks too, how about the World Canucks?

MJDDawg
Maybe we can be called "The Vancouver British Columbia Canada Orcan Skate Johnny Canucks". Every fan across Canada will be happy. And it just rolls off the tongue..... You can't forget to also include references to our two major ethnic communities...Asian and South Asian. So Johnny Canuck could maybe be doing a Bhangra dance wearing Orcan skates? Can't think of an appropriate Asian reference atm.
Warhippy
There's about as much fo a chance of that happening as their is of BC's tax dollars funding billion dollar projects outside of vancouver... Which is to say no

Ghostsof1915
Has the Coyotes name change translated into more fans? According to ESPN since the name change they've dropped almost 400 fans per game. So I'd say no. http://espn.go.com/nhl/attendance Now where I question those numbers is it says the arena is 86% full on most nights.

Rogers Arena is often criticized for being drowned out by visiting fans especially, when the Leafs and Habs come to town. Well of course this is the case it would be odd if they didn't. Leafs and Habs fans get to watch their team play in Vancouver once a year so they are much more likely to buy a ticket and cheer loud. Canucks fans can see their team at home 41 games per year. Tre Mac
I think they should change thier name to the White Rock Canucks. After all White Rock is home to BC's elite, myself included.
X-Man
"Canuck" was first used derisively by Americans in the 1800's to refer to French Canadians. So, I think we should change the name completely - how about the "Vancouver Grizzlies" ? gizmo2337
Why not change all the teams this way? We could have the Ontario Maple Leafs....and Ottawa....oh...wait!
PhillipBlunt
Not a chance. It makes no sense. The team plays in Vancouver. No need to change what works.
