On behalf of General Manager @Tylez, the Vancouver Canucks are pleased to announce the re-signings of:

Patrik Berglund - 2 years, $3.85m AAV

Jordan Weal - 2 years, $1.15m AAV

And the signings of:

Brendan Troock - 2 years, $700k AAV (Jeff Tambellini)

Marek Landhammer - 3 years, $850k AAV (Toni Lydman)

Calvin Thurkauf - 3 years, $850k AAV (Patrick Thoresen)

Yan Pavel Laplante - 3 years, $800k AAV (Martin Lapointe)

Hunter Miska - 3 years, $750k AAV (Ryan Malone)

Fantrax really sucks with its lack of players.

Loving the filler players B)

Big shout out to @Captain Azzy for getting these done with his extremely busy schedule!

We are happy to re-up Berglund and Weal for a couple more seasons! Weal finished the season on a tear in Philly before he got hurt. Berglund is fairly consistent which we love.

Welcome to the team Trook, Langhammer, Miska, Thurkauf, and Laplante! Langhammer and Miska are both goalies of the future. Langhammer is pretty close to making that jump, and Miska just signed an ELC in Arizona. Thurkauf had a great season for the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL and was voted there top player this season. We were pleasantly surprised to see him available. We think he could make an impact in CBJ sooner then later. Laplante and Trook could both see some time next year for sure. We hope that is the case and we Thu k these 2 could make great depth players for our team.

Extremely happy with the outcome of our signings today!

We'd like to ask that GMs please send in their vote for GM of the year.

Newer GMs are not required to, but may do so if they feel they've seen enough to make a decision.

Here are last year's standings for reference:

On behalf of General Manager @Beary Sweet, the Los Angeles are pleased to announce the re-signing of:

Matt Tennyson - 3 years, $950k AAV

Thanks to @Captain Azzy for his patience and taking the time to deal with negotiations. We are pleased to welcome Matt for an extended stay as we believe he will be a solid top 4 for our team as we assume we will be losing one of our quality defencemen but most likely a forward depending on who we are exposing. Congrats on publishing a new book and hope that it becomes a hit across the Lower Mainland!

Phenomenal start to the second round by @oldnews' Winnipeg Jets, which've taken off more like a rocket than a plane!

Leading all teams with 43.5 points without their starting goaltender getting any points...gulp!

We're going to need that.  We had a lucky first night with lots of guys going (riding on "Draivers" back) - but couldn't really afford to lose Fiala - and that did not look good - there's no way he's back these playoffs.   Was sad to see Juice go down as well - not as serious appearing, but also did not look good.

I did notice that your one active guy last night picked up 7+ pts though  - and tonight it's reversed - you have the bulk of your big guns going where I have only a couple skaters - so by tomorrow, this'll probably be a dead heat - and the nature of our rosters dictate that it'll be a see-saw battle with most of our rosters going on opposite nights.

Best of luck - we're really just not wanting to get blown out.

My favourite part of all these playoffs so far, is the Rangers scratching one of my top defense fantasy point getters of the season! Thanks AV...

Klein?

Yeah, have him in CDCFL, and feel the same. He played one game, and got an assist...but then back in the press box.

Really hurts being eliminated but watching my boys single handedly beat Washington last night...

Anyways, taking offers on Big Game if anyone wants a crack at negotiating with him before he heads for free agency. If you're not sure who Big Game is, then head on over to google and search any of the following... will be sold to the highest bidder as he's not interested in signing for his #1 fan.

Just browsing the playoff brackets for last season and something interesting jumped out.

None of the final four teams from last year's playoffs remain standing and only one of them appear to have made the playoffs this year (Nashville, with a first round exit).

And of the final 8 from last year, only two teams, Vancouver and Florida, who lost in the 2nd round, are still standing this year.

So, quite the turnover - and incentive to teams that missed this season.
