Spoosh
I usually don't criticize too much, but when I do, I criticize CDC users. This time I will make an exception and say that makes Loui Eriksson look like pretty good signing and point my critics at the Leafs. Marleau has always managed to fly under the radar in my books, even if he was a 2nd overall pick back in the day. He has always been good and put up great numbers for the Sharks, but to me this deal comes several years too late in his career. Certainly not washed up or anything, but to maintain a level you'd expect from him at that price is gonna be a tough one for him and the Leafs. Bo53
LOL the leafs made a big mistake and I love it! I wonder how tsn will spin this into the best signing of the decade

amplified0ne
They better have a deep enough pool of prospects in the system. They have a bunch of UFA' after this coming season so they will have enough Cap for Matthews and Marner.

Toews
The third year will be the biggest issue and he is a 35+ contract as well. They have a lot of cap coming off the books in the next couple of years so they should have the room to still sign their kids. IMO the logic makes sense, but the player doesn't. DoughtysCheck
Leafs added an extra year and Marleau still gets 6+ mil. If I were to add the 3rd year, I would have at least made Marelau take 5.5 mil per. Lol leafs

Great Granny
Their forward group was the least of their problems. They must be shopping JVR or Bozak for a D Man.

They will have a number of players at the end of their contracts at that time; Lupul, Joffrey , Van Riemsdyk, James , Bozak, Tyler ect. As much as I wish this could come back to bite them it more than likely will not.

Warhippy
Regression the last 3 consecutive seasons, never produced without Thornton in the line up next to him...Bozak and or JVR HAVE to be on the way out to make this work, and man that blueline still has not been touched. TSN Grades this an A+ Toronto spends to the cap on players over 35 years old, A+ Canucks spend half that on guys under 30 years old C- Will be interesting to see him in a Leafs jersey... Gaudette Celly
Eventually all that dead cap they're holding will come off. But, that D... Not going anywhere until they get at least two more of NHL-calibre.
