N7Nucks
Thinking of not having Nazzy here. That's nightmare stuff. I was pissed when he was let go.

When he became a UFA it was time for him to go. The tough part was leaving at the same time as Linden as Linden got all the love. Naslund's last game was a lackluster farewell for the leader of the West Coast Express, but a damn good one for Linden.
nuckin_futz
Gilmour was still a decent player at that point but talk about dodging a bullet.

Same he still had game as his season with the rangers was decent. His heart was here that's why he retired early
Guest
How old was he at this time, about 33? Would he have had an impact playing with Bure? And would we then have signed Messier? Our franchise would have been so extraordinarily different with just this one trade.

The beloved Pat Quinn was actually the guy trying to make the trade. Maybe he was pressured from above. Funny how the Canucks look like geniuses for fleecing the Pens, yet they were actively looking to flip Naslund for a past-his-prime vet, that was on an expiring contract. That would have been devastating for a team that was on the brink of relocation. Naslund and company ended up digging the team out of the darkness during that period.
