27 Different 2018 Draft Rankings - Top 10 Compiled

Took all of the draft rankings I can find out there from North America and Europe - includes the well known like Bob McKenzie, Ryan Kennedy, ISS, Central Scouting, Craig Button etc. and others not so well known.   Not weighted in any way.   Simply put them all in a spreadsheet and got the average ranking for each player and here is where the "experts" (for lack of a better term) have aligned on average.   Not my ranking and I would have this BUT I could see this happening next weekend.   For what it is worth, here it is:

1.      Rasmus Dahlin (D)
2.      Andrei Svechnikov (RW)
3.      Filip Zadina (LW)
4.      Oliver Wahlstrom (C/RW)

5.      Brady Tkachuk (C/LW)
6.      Quinn Hughes (D)
7.      Adam Boqvist (D)
8.      Evan Bouchard (D)
9.      Ty Smith (D)
10.      Noah Dobson (D)

I am pretty sure more Canuck fans and their management would not be overly upset to have the four Dmen listed above from 7 to 10 available for their deliberations.

As a Canucks fan, I wouldn't be upset at all.

That's a shame.  I know we really need D like a pornstar but I would love to have Wahlstrom or Tkachuk on this team going forward.

There was a LOT of noise in the data so this is simply an average....Tkachuk could go from 3rd to 14th according to the rankings I went through - Wahlstrom 3rd to 12th.      A few "experts" were very D-focused.   Of interest, Tkachuk appeared at 7 on a number of lists but Wahlstrom only once.

Canucks are not in a terrible draft position.

For once there are multiple scenarios that I will be happy with as a fan...I guess that's what happens when you have so many organizational needs in a rebuild.

Would love for Wahlstrom to fall.

Would be happy with ANY of Hughes, Dobson, Bouchard, or Boqvist (Not necessarily in that order)

I know not a lot of people on here aren't high on Tkachuk, but again, would not hate that kind of pedigree on the Canucks.

From what I've heard, next years draft is going to be top heavy in Fs, with far less Ds in the top range.  I'm thinking our team will be in the lotto again, so we just may end up with a top level forward.

I just cant see Ottawa passing on a defensemen given the likelihood of losing Karlsson.

I'd still take Dobson.

That size of frame on defence mixed with a good right-hand shot and smooth skating... He's the pick in our draft range.

I'll be surprised if he isn't the "off the board" top 5 pick going downwards. Dahlin and Svechnikov will be 1/2 as they probably should. I'd take heavy looks at Dobson after that.

Hopefully he's on the board when it's our turn at the podium.

With the news that Tryamkin is probably coming back I wonder if this will play into their decisions ..... for instance if one of Wahlstrom, Tkachuk  is available and the D man they really wanted is off the board do they go for the forward knowing they have gained a pretty good d prospect they thought might have been lost...

cant wait for next friday!

Good point.   These lists (at least I don't think so anyway) don't take into account who is picking, these are generally pure rankings of projected talent at the NHL level.

Wow, thanks for this. I'd be happy with any of these D. Though I favour Boqvist

I'd think that OTT will have an easier time getting F talent trading EK and then draft the 2nd best D this draft.

Thanks for the work Rob......….interesting

I wondered about that before...……..just too lazy to put in the time

Hey, in your travels, did you ever see which one of all the ranking companies/people had the highest acracy?

Year in year out...…..who do we trust, other than you? :)

Ott should be giving there pick to the avs this year and trade off stone karlsonn and anything they can get for Hoffman.

Start fresh and move forward with the young guns.  Next year they will be worse and will be in contention for Hughes. That’s a piece you don’t want even a chance at missing.
