Like dirty into the glass or just blown up somewhere? He *always* plays better when someone 'hits him into the game'. Bertuzzi was the same way, he'd be asleep, disinterested. Then someone would hit him and he'd wake up and take the game over in a big "f-you" fashion. I wonder if there's an element of that in Virtanen... like he *has* to be physically engaged before the rest of it comes together at all. Also Bertuzzi was 'fat' as far as playing went. 6string Posted September 17, 2019 Share Posted September 17, 2019 I caught the game in Calgary online but it wasn't the feed I wanted to watch, obviously the home braodcast in Victoria I would switch over to. But in that Calgary feed as the Flems were up 2- 0 the broadcasters boasted about how the Canucks were unable to keep up to Calgary's speed and then inceredibly tells the lame Calgary sheep audience that Lucic has improved his skating,much better than last year and fits in nicely with the overall team speed. Popular Post McIlhargey the Lesser Posted September 17, 2019 Popular Post Share Posted September 17, 2019 Some observations: 1.JV shuts up all detractors. 2.When Bo and Miller were on the ice from the second period on, they dominated together. Weren't clicking enough for the finish (until the very end) but very promising. 3.Brogan R was good defensively. Smart and steady most of the time, but when they tried him on the PP early on I thought he passed when he should have shot a couple of times when he got some nice pass backs to the line. 4.Kole looks good. Definitely room to improve, but nice drive and keeping his legs moving and a few nice plays. 5.Funny that Ericksson scored exactly the type of goal he was known for before he came to the Canucks. 6.Looks like we finally have some competition for spots and real depth. 7.Teves had ups and downs.
