Getting hyped watching Petey rookie season highlights.... funny thing is all I can think about is how cool it would be if Cheech and Shorty were calling the playoff games

With towel-waving, screaming-ass, fans welcoming the boys home 1-1 against a beyond stellar Vegas team, nonetheless. I'm enjoying these games more than I thought I would but the lack of atmosphere is covid-level disappointing.

Some players raise their level of play in the playoffs. This is why I'm confused about Jake. These are his first NHL playoffs, and he has 1 goal in 11 games. Tyler Motte has 4. You would think Jake is made for the playoffs, but is he?

I think he is. His hit count is high as hell, although it's one cannot argue, a 6th pick is expected to do more, but he is useful, just not like  the other first rounders on the team. He is useful.  Throws the body, willing to play an intense game, he will probably not lite up the score sheet, but he is helpful.

How would you describe the Brendan Leipsic termination?

Fringe NHLer placed on termination-waivers for being a douche. Definitely not mutual. Nor was the Mike Richards termination, but they reached a settlement. I don't know if Lifestink caught a buck on his minimum contract ass way out.

Source?

most injuries are the 4-6 week range, with the very less serious ones being  day to day, and the more serious ones being 2-3 months.  I am assuming it's an upper body injury he has suffered and if he has not practiced with the team yet, he will not play.  Once week at least from  first practice.  don'd hold your breath for him to come back this series.  I guess the break can help.   We were able to get past the blues series without him, the Canucks will have to try to win 3 against the Knights without him.

Has the idea ever been floated that perhaps this season was a bit of a sophomore slump for Petey?

I get that it’s a ridiculous thought at face value because he had such an excellent season.

But it seems to me there was some greater dynamic (flash) in his game in his rookie season that seems to be re-emerging once again after the break.

I'm curious: do you think the lack of travel helps a western/coastal team?  I haven't heard this discussed, most just comment on the lack of an advantage for home teams.

I agree and also the lack of distractions in Vegas help us against them. No bright lights. No casinos, No crazy parties. Just get to work. That's an advantage for everyone against the Knights for sure. Once they get down to the last 4 teams its an advantage to the western teams for sure not having traveled many thousand KMs compared to the eastern teams. Remember the 94 series when the Canucks had like 24000 kms in and the Rangers had less than 1000

consider him out for the playoffs.  His injury is probably a 4 week one.

Canucks' Tyler Myers: Still a ways away from returning
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Myers (shoulder) isn't expected to be ready to return until sometime next week, Rick Dhaliwal of TSN 1040 Vancouver reports.

Thursday night's Game 3 versus Vegas is expected to be postponed, and at this point it isn't clear when it will be played, but either way, Myers will likely miss at least a few more contests with his separated shoulder. The 30-year-old blueliner went scoreless while averaging 18:56 of ice time in six postseason contests before suffering his injury.

So you're saying the source is a voice in your head? Surely some injuries are 3 weeks and some are 7. If he hasn't praticed yet, who's to say he won't pratice in a couple of days?

Not saying I know any more than anyone else here, just seems weird when people state things as certain when they're clearly not. (see Toffoli do we really need him? thread)

I wouldn't put much into what 1040 reports these days, I wouldn't be surprised to see Myers, but I really doubt Rick has any clue whats actually going on in the bubble.

I'm kinda expecting Vegas to come even harder today, but I'm gonna stay optimistic and say 2-0 nucks with Marky and the shotblockers combining for another 80+ saves.

In the meantime enjoy Pacioretty getting speared by Horvat.

I think I might have a new hobby. ::D

So why didn't they call an ambulance then???

What you say is even more damaging for a police officer that should know how different drugs affect the body/mind. And then put his knee over the neck.wich everybody should know is a risk for breathing.

They actually did call an ambulance. Almost immediately, and confirmed it was coming ( this is all shown and heard in the body can footage that no one watched because it destroys the lefts narrative). He said he can’t breath a dozen times before being put on the ground. The officer’s offered to put him in the car with the windows down, they offered to put him in with the air conditioning on, he was completely hysterical tho, and unfortunately things went the way they did. If you watch the full body cam footage two things are clear, one, the cops were not ‘looking to kill a black man that day’ they actually tried quiet hard to settle the situation. And two, Floyd was completely out of his head.

I’m splitting hairs on a tangent here but - There is a growing belief that the celts did not exist, and even if you were to group together a Celtic area it did not reach England or Ireland.

also it would be Germanic and not German hybrid to be more accurate as it would have been the northern Germanic tribes which formed the Saxons, angles and jutes, and then later the Danes (England and southern Scotland) and Norwegian (Scottish isles and western Scotland (which incidentally was ruled  by the Norwegians until the 13th century.

also in regards to Romans in Germany- very small areas of present day Germany were roman occupied, Norway was never occupied by romans however there is evidence.......

To sum up this part of your post. Europe was essentially Vikings vs Romans ;)

I kid, I kid. Interesting historical context. Thanks
