RUMOR

Hearing the Toronto Maple Leafs are taking calls on Adam Fox. Sources say their #1 goal is to get him signed, however they're not sure Adam feels the same way.

They would be asking a hefty price for him. Hearing the starting ask would be a high quality D prospect + 1st.

Crabby was asked earier on the Adam Fox negotiations, and this is what he had to say:

"We have been in talks with Adam Fox about a contract extention since before the season began. We see him as a key piece to our future, and hopefully one day will go down as 1 of the Toronto greats. However, since taking over we have made a lot of moves with an eye on the future, and we believe that has a lot to do with his unwillingness to sign at this time.

Its disappointing from our end because we want to get a deal done, but at the same time understand why Adam has some concerns. We hope he will realize that our moves are for the better of the team going forward, and that we are not far off from becoming a consistant playoff team. We have a lot of solid young guys, and Adam is one of, if not the best of the bunch. It would be tough to move on from a guy like that, but at the end of the day we want guys that want to be here. Hoping we can figure something out soon, but if not we feel we are in a very good spot either way we have to go with this."

Was later asked what his ask would be should he be seeking a trade, Crabby replied:

"We are not shopping Adam Fox, but a few teams have already inquired about him, and if talks dont pick up with a contract extention, eventually we will have to explore those proposals we have received on him. We have to do what is best for the team moving forward, and right now that is getting him signed. How long that remains the best for our team is up to him.

If we were to explore a trade he wouldn't come cheap. Im not going to set a price on a guy like Adam, but we are willing to drag this out as long as we have too. We have made it very clear we see Adam being a core piece of our team moving forward, and if a team wants to pry him from us it will take a lot. If the right offer comes along and Adam is still uncertain of his willingness to sign here we may have to pull the trigger on a deal, but we are hopeful it doesn't come to that."

It will be interesting to see how this develops. Adam Fox was kind of overshadowed a bit by Quinn Hughes and Cale Makar in his rookie year, but there is no denying he is one of the best young Dmen in the NHL today. Crabby will be trying really hard to get a deal done, but by the sounds of it, there might be a big trade on the horizon if talks dont go anywhere soon. Not like the Maple Leafs need to move him before the TDL, but its clear they will atleast keep that option open.

Buckle up folks, the ride in Toronto isn't over yet!

The Rangers white paper on possible trade block players is burning up social media hashtags and may stir some controversy. But is the list accurate and did it originate with the GM at Madison Square Garden?

Quote

The list of available players, should any GM's be interested, is longer this year than any previous one, in no particular order of 'cost' or cap hit or where they are playing right now, the full list of players "on the block": bold belong to current playoff clubs by NHL standings this morning.

Austin Czarnik, Cody Eakin, Austin Wagner, Victor Rask, Kyle Okposo, Jujhar Khaira, Adam Erne, Connor Murphy, Braydon Coburn, Matt Benning, Filip Chlapik, Tim Soderlund, Thomas Novak, Adam Ruzicka, Dale Weise, Nick Henry, Filip Westerlund, Parker Wotherspoon, Emil Djuse, Derrick Pouliot, Venyamin Baranov, Mitch Eliot and Jakob Stenqvist.

GM Primal Optimist confirms a big shift in the depth charts is coming and that loads of players may be available for picks and prospects. He would not comment on any of the 23 players mentioned in the leak other than to say, obviously the ask for some of these fine gentlemen will be higher than some others.

Thank you to @AndreLePlum for the negotiations.

Chris Kreider spent his entire career in Washington and it is sad to see a player that has committed so much to the organization go. He currently stands 2nd in all time goals with the franchise and will bring great leadership to Anaheim.

We welcome Matt Calvert who we are hoping gels nicely on to our team in a bottom 6 role this season.

As per the added 1st round pick, it is available for trade if the right deal comes along but we are also very comfortable keeping and using the pick.

Once again, all the best to Chris Kreider, you will truly be missed and will always be a Capital in our hearts. Thank you for everything.

image.png.080fc9db41890cb195c2edef497e1b20.pngNEW JERSEY DEVILS PRESS RELEASE:

After letting the first third of the season play out with no roster adjustments the Devils found themselves slipping below the Playoff bar and sliding towards the middle of the pack in League standings. After personnel evaluations were completed the team spent the better part of a week laying the ground work for and re-visiting trade negotiations.

The team we feel has upgraded mainly in goal with whom we see as a top 5 netminder in Semyon Varlamov, adding a potentially dangerous forward of Denis Gurianov's calibre was a no brainer and solidifying a shakey defense hampered by injuries and inexperience we brought in Dmitry Orlov. Further there is word the team has signed a young forward as well as completed a few other smaller trades bringing in upgrades to roster depth.

The team has most of the pieces in place as years prior, we just need some of our regulars to get hot! The Devils remain motivated to upgrade the active roster and still have a few irons in the fire so to speak.

Stay Tuned!

ATTENTION!

There will be some adjustments and changes coming, nothing too major, but significant nonetheless.  Expect these in the next few days, and they will be posted in the thread.

As we're on the topic though, if there are any changes you'd like to see, or issues you may have etc., please PM them to me and let me know your point of view!
