Isn't Trump starting a Patriot party? America should have the Republicans, Democrats, Libertarian, Green, and Progressive party.  Five options from people to choose from with ranked voting.  The whole 2 party system where the two parties can't stand each other is getting pretty stale.

I say let Trump make the Patriot party, it might actually lead to a multiple party system while putting the Republicans in their place.

Diplomacy ?

They have threatened us here in Aus.

As I stated in another post they have bullied us with tariffs on billions of dollars of our products,a play out of trumps playbook, which they did after trump imposed tariffs on some of their product's.

Trump has empowered despotic leaders and right wing groups around the world that is undeniable.

The price to pay for China’s belt and road diplomacy has been staggering.  Australia, Canada and many others have learned that trade with China requires that you give up all your ability to criticize or act like a free democracy. The US ceded leadership in many places around the world over the last four years. Let’s hope that their re-engagement will bring a little balance back but new trade pacts with other partners will be crucial.

It will be interesting to see if Biden rejoins the TPP after trump withdrew from it in 2017.

Military sure, but I think we're going a different direction now from military being the most powerful force. It's why China's now focused on diplomacy and giving out loans to other nations. Diplomacy's going to be king from now on, not military.

As far as economy goes, US is highest, but that's going to not be the case pretty quickly.

When it comes to China, military will become king later on.

Australia, Philippines, Vietnam, Canada, Japan etc. will learn this in the near future.

When it comes to Russia and the U.S, economic impact will be the king because anything else would obliterate China.

Fast forward few decades and war between India and China will take center stage.

That really depends on India. China's made friends with virutally all of India's neighbours, so either it'll be as you say or India will become China's puppet.

As far as military goes, I kind of disagree, but that also depends on what the future has in store (ie. how many actual wars end up taking place between superpowers, or if they're just "diplomatic wars").

If I could I would post up satellite images of China's new carrier that is under construction.

I dunno about my dumbass government but I am aware of the size of China's military.

I know there have been skirmishes on the Indian- China border however India is a nuclear power and comes in at 4th in military power just behind China according to global firepower.

War between the 2 largest populations on the planet is doubtful IMO.

You never know though.

China has land and island disputes with Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, Philippines, Mongolia, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia etc. Sooner or later, some of these will turn into armed conflicts. India is despite its faults a democracy, China is a dictatorship. They get a pass just because of their economic importance, kind of like how barbaric regimes rich with oil get a pass as well.

I don’t see them using nuclear weapons since they are so close to each other and Russia is near by.

Larger scale ground war is a possibility, both countries are “flush” with the population.

But they're also loaning money and investing into some of those same countries. Do you not think at some point it's not even going to matter if there are disputes or not? It's not going to matter if China's a dictatorship. Most of those countries you mentioned are even from just one conflict: the Spratly Islands.

If Trump gave you 10 million dollars right here right now, would you take it? Even if not you, how many of your friends would take it? How many of those friends then end up siding with Trump. Think about that. Money talks and these disputes won't matter. China being a dictatorship won't matter.

The only dispute I can see possibly making a difference would be between India and Pakistan, but I'm also talking decades into the future and a lot can happen within decades.

Although that is somewhat correct, there are other land issues as well.

India and China have clashed over several different spots, also China invaded Vietnam in 79 and that war killed tens of thousands.

China was a big backer of Pol Pot and his regime and after Vietnam intervention, China attacked Vietnam.

Also large swaths of Nepal has been claimed by China as part of Tibet.

Same goes with Bhutan, if you look at the maps, China has included those territories on their maps.

If tomorrow official map of Washington state started to include Vancouver island, I think Ottawa would be concerned.

Also China has had historic conflicts with Russia and Japan over land and islands.

China claims most of the Laos and Mongolia as well.

I do agree that money matters but eventually alliance will form to fight the Chinese influence.

B.C is a haven for Chinese money, but if some of the official policies from China started to “flow” into B.C like forced sterilization, Internment and “re-education” camps etc. I am pretty sure that there would be massive resistance in Canada.

Pakistan has been with China because of their conflict with India in Kashmir.

China has invested billions in Russia’s Far East as well as population has started to move to that sparsely inhibited area.

Don’t think that the Russians haven’t noticed or been talking about that.

You could say that China might be copying US strategy of the last 2 centuries.

First the Monroe Doctrine then the addition of the Roosevelt Corollary.

Keep your opponents as far away from your front door as you can,so can  think about offense rather than defense.

zzzzzzzzz

are you one of those clowns who is afraid China will start a world war?

If so it will never happen.  NEVER.  I won't get into the dictatorship and the so called claims with the so called territorial disputes, I'm currently in Indonesia right now, (they are closer to China then USA right now) and there are no issues between these 2 countries, anyways, no war will break out. Mark these words.
