Personally, I'd be insisting on more than just a first to take that monstrosity of a contract.  Not only does his refusal to put in an acceptable effort hurt you on the ice, it causes issues with young players when you don't bench him for floating and they think that kind of behaviour is acceptable.  You don't win with a cancer like Double Flamingo.
