Canucks unofficial October prediction thread.

I’ve had enough of all the other crap, I’m out of those threads, instead let’s talk hockey.

 

Canucks have 9 games in October:

 

Oilers - away

Flyers - away

Red Wings - away

Sabres - away

Hawks - away

Kraken - away

Wild - home

Flyers - home

Oiler - home

 

How will we do? Let’s keep it simple, a wins a win, a loss is a loss.

 

Poll closes October 13th at Noon.

 

If whatever choice that has the most votes is correct I will donate $50 to Canucks Place.

It's the bolded portion which has me going conservative.  I'd be happy with some form of 5-4 record ("4" including both regulation and OT losses).  
While the team does have more defensive defenders, when up to 1/3 - 1/2 your blue-line is new (Olli isn't new but he only played half the season and around 13 minutes/ night), I think there will be some growing pains even as the partners learn to gel with each other.  I'd expect either Poolman or OEL to be question marks/ inconsistent, and if Juolevi takes on primary defensive minutes he might need time to adjust too. 

Most teams have also shored up some weakness (e.g. Edmonton with Hyman/ Foegele/ Ceci/ Keith?; Flyers have more offensive and defensive depth on paper; Detroit with Suter/ Leddy/ Nedeljkovic...; Hawks with Toews/ Jones/ Fleury; Kraken are brand-new; Wild were one of two playoff teams from that list last season, and they'll be dangerous with Kirill the Thrill and Fiala).  That being said though, with the new offense, Dickinson and Halak as backup, I think we'll be a tougher opponent too, hence an improvement from the 4-5 start last season.

6 game road trip to start the season is tough, and with a lot of new guys too. Will be a great team building experience hitting the road, but might take them several games to get going.

There is new line-up this season, looks much stronger, compared with last year.

I predict 2/3 wins = 6 wins including OTW.

Wow our schedule makes it so we can really get out of the gate on a hot streak. This is one of the more favorable scheduling decisions we have had since I've been a fan (circa 2004)

I just could truly see both a disaster start or a beautiful start. Both seem like somewhat realistic worlds to me.

We have a pretty easy October. It will be a good gauge for the rest of the season. Better get at least 6, 7 wins out of that.
