Going into next season, the Nucks have about $15m to replace or re-sign 10 players plus Boeser. The following season it will be Bo,Hogs and Miller's $10+. I think the management could see long before the TD that Millsy wasn't going to get the huge trade return they wanted. Probably giving themselves time to develop a trade in the offseason, or during the next season. Do 'we' even know if he wants to stay in Vancouver? At least this way in the offseason they can see what an extension for Miller would look like. Once that is discussed between the two parties and a rough number/term is known they can then either sign him or move him. At the time Nah, thats two players. Adding Richardsson means someone either gets traded or in Abbotsford. In this case it was Motte and more than 400k added.
