I'd take Babcock over Boudreau. Boudreau is too much of a players coach imho.

If there's division in the locker room like the rumblings would have people believe, isn't that a good thing?

He's certainly more reputable than Green, championship or not.

Though I'm not opposed to Babcock, though I think he's a tad overrated.

How the hell did this make 7 pages?

He is in town because the university team he coaches is paying the thunderbirds this weekend.

Some of y’all are crazy

Because if you bet against the Canucks most games nowadays you're gonna make money. People are frustrated, they're miserable, and they want change. Also, CDC is contractually obligated to beat all hockey topics to death and then some.

there's nothing in business ethics that states the general public is entitled to a detailed summary of interpersonal relationships and personnel decisions of privately owned companies.

I suspect Babs would have tweaked his methods a bit in today’s world. If he has and he’s stern but fair and respectful. Im all for it.

the leafs turfed him because his team sucked and quit playing for him, not because of mitch marner.

His team sucked cause Matthews and Marner are floaters that you can’t win with in the playoffs. Their stats speak for themselves.

Babcock coming in and trying to get them to work harder was what they needed. The team chose the players over the coach though.

U of Sask is in town guys. Nothing to see here

Most likely.

But at the same time I would be surprised if ownership didn’t do their due diligence and at least gauge interest from various coaches.

Babcock might not be on their shortlist but I would also not be surprised if he was. Hiring him would definitely create a buzz around this team again, much like with the Torts signing.

The price tag for him would be too big. Can you imagine Frankie saying yes to a 50 million dollar deal?

He’s not getting a mega deal after Toronto.

He’s not in high demand anymore otherwise he would have been hired by now.

Probably closer to a 4 year deal around 4-5 mil would be my guess.

I don't see them hiring him if they don't have a real President/GM in place.

A president could already be in the works, and after that a coaching hire could be made.

A GM doesn’t necessarily have to be hired before the coach IMO. A GM would be brought in who is willing to work with the coach already in place.
