Great come back from 3-0 deficit.

Canucks lost 3 players before the game due to COVID.

Canucks lost 3 goals in the 1st period.

However, the team comeback and finally win 4-3.

 

Bo, Petey, Pod, Boser, Myers, Hughes, JT,  Garland  all are awesome.

Helluva game.  This is the kind of character this group showed during the bubble.  Some bad personnel decisions and communication issues from management wrecked the vibe for a while there, but we're getting back to where we were.  This group believes and is going to keep on pushing.  Good time to be a fan of this team.

I know the way he was handled in the KHL pissed of a lot of people but his team does it with every single kid and I think not giving kids an easy path keeps them hungry and helps develop character. 

 

This kid has not once taken a shift off and clearly has thick skin. I remember that guy who follows our prospects would tweet about underlying numbers and the things that we couldn't see that he did on a shift by shift basis often trying to put out the fires that the Stat watchers said about his lack of points and his supposed IQ issues. 

Fast forward to 30 games into his career and people were upset early but I honestly think TG handled him just fine. Not only did he come to a new country but he also had to adjust to a different style of hockey and rink size. I'm confident he would have been fine but instead he just kept working and forcing his way up the depth chart.

Now after 30 games he's getting top six minutes, plays both special teams and has been our best defensive forward while being on pace for 20+ goals while being trusted in the wayning minutes..

What's even better is the fact that their line is creating chances every shift it seems.

I'm not saying Petey's has started to turn solely because of him but they seem to be developing some great chemistry together.

Sorry to ramble but he's the guy I wanted long before the draft and his jersey was the first I've purchased since Bure's.

2019 is shaping up to one hell of a draft for us.

Since Hughes was a Weisbrod pick as opposed to Judd "can do no wrong" Brackett, guys like Drance, JD Burke, and the usual suspects were laying it in thick to Hughes this past off-season.

Liked Juulsen too.  But we aren't badly off for righties and actually have way more depth there than on the left:  Myers, Hamonic, Poolman, Schenn, Burroughs, Juulsen.  It's pretty sound when 3 of those guys go down and the 6th one on the depth chart plays as well as Juulsen did.

Don't agree, with his deployment under Green - just look at the difference, in deployment between him & Bones, early in the season.  Anyways, I believe the one person that [perhaps], deserves alot of credit for keeping him focus, is his wife.  Imagine, if JV had surrounded himself with better people, off the ice ?

Lol Hughes wasn’t a Weisbrod pick. He was a Brackett pick. But in all reality he was a no brainer consensus pick at the spot he was taken.

First of all. I haven't thought or heard Ozi's name in a very long time.

 

I feel like we should talk hockey often.

 

How ever I recall Ozi was a big guy. Like very big. He must have been like 220 lbs 6"2 or more. He was a big dude. Not really seeing Quinn compared to him at all. Gotta be atleast 40lbs and 6 inches difference..

 

Was a heck of a player with the AVS in the 90s. Heck of a player

MS on HF said he was a Weisbrod pick?   Maybe he was wrong.  I'm just glad that he's thriving this season.

Definitely a heck of a player but I think the book on him at the time as the years went by was that he was basically a forward out of position.  People last season tried to give Hughes the same stigma/label.  Glad that Hughes is putting those guys in their places.

Benning had told Quinns father the night before draft that if Quinn was on the board when Canucks go up he would take Quinn.

 

I think 1st rounders always JB  decision. After 1st round it's draft team "Judd Brackett decisions"
