It would be worse had not Douglas later rejected those theories later when he was in a position of power.

true. There were a lot of kooky societies and ideas back then. It was just too easy to bring up.

I guess. Thing is, I was genuinely trying to find evidence of what you were claiming. If you had just said in the first place that it was just your opinion and that you didn't have any evidence, I would have dropped it several posts ago....

OK how about you post Ruperts rules of evidence for having an opinion and I'll do my best next time.

So no investigation is needed for one of the biggest frauds in history?

Nov 14 (Reuters) - U.S. prosecutors in New York are probing FTX's collapse, a source with knowledge of the investigations said, after the crypto exchange filed for bankruptcy protection last week following a rush of customer withdrawals.

The Justice Department, Securities and Exchange Commission and Commodity Futures Trading Commission are now all investigating how FTX handled customer funds as Alameda Research, the proprietary trading firm of FTX Chief Executive Sam Bankman-Fried, unraveled, the source said. FTX had been confronted with an apparent liquidity crunch after using customer funds to prop up Alameda.

Yes there should definitely be an investigation about that, what's it got to do with twitter though?

US government representatives like Ed Markey openly attacking Musk and threatening him while he is silent on one of the biggest frauds in US history.  Why no tweets from Ed Markey on FTX?  Twitter isn't a ponzi scheme and didn't lose billions of investor money like FTX, but the outrage over Elon far exceeds any outrage over FTX by anyone in government.  I wonder why that is?

The House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing next month to investigate the collapse of top crypto exchange FTX, lawmakers announced Wednesday.

Reps. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) and Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.), the top lawmakers on the committee, said in a statement that they expect disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried to appear before Congress.

It is because when the $8 blue check fiasco happened, Ed was impersonated by a blue checked account.  That's why he's been on the war path.  Go back in this thread, I posted the story when it dropped.

Edit:  to add, Elon's response was to mock him.

I look forward to see what improvements Twitter has in store in the future, Musk clearly has a vision for it and has cut all the dead weight employees who got too comfortable "working" from home.

"Working from home" has become even more prevalent since Covid, things aren't just immediately jumping back to how they were. Particularly in industries where the standard is often remote work or a hybrid model. The tech world isn't, and doesn't have to be, boots on the ground the way some other professions are.

Those jumping from Twitter likely won't have a hard time finding jobs either imo. There's always a demand for well educated tech people.

Working remotely is a better option for many and there are numerous reasons for that. Time saved from not having to commute, money saved period, not having to deal with microaggressions, misogyny, racism, ect. The list goes on.
