Zhukini
Demko news is the biggest of the day, if he’s out for any length of time due to surgery it’ll be another long year.

Not if he gets it done right away. Those procedures usually have a fairly short recovery time.

Even IF they're not producing at a level we'd like, take it easy/ier on them...we don't know what others are going through behind the scenes. I feel for Brock...watching a loved one slip away (mentally) is the most difficult thing ever. Especially when you DO still have to function and show up for work. May there be lessons learned here.... The human element of the pro athlete.

Miller, Bo, Bess need extensions done. Don’t trade any of our extended core. Touch the fringes, like with the Hamonic trade. Nothing more. Glad you figured that out Alfie. I think it’s very important to keep the core together. Rebuilds can take a very long time and JB could have done a better job but he did provide us with most of the pieces. Tearing that down just because there’s new management is a big mistake. I’m not opposed to one piece moving to help facilitate better depth or restock our futures but for the most part this team is still growing. It’s coming together finally! 2

But then again would it be good for him? Seeing that disease take its toll every day would be tough to watch. I’m not sure his on ice performance wouldn’t suffer even more.

Brock was completely shattered. And Petey and Quinn both had tears in their eyes just seeing their friend and teammate hurting. Would have been a time for the media handlers to step in and stop the interviews. They could have restarted in 30 minutes. No need for what happened. Seemed like Brock may have already had a difficult phone call today with family or some new news about Duke, because he was on the edge of tears from the moment he sat down, even before the personal questions started. The team probably should have let him just sit this one out. Anyway, what’s done is done. And thankfully, most of the other reporters tried to shift gears and focus back on hockey. Drance said that he’s known about Duke’s dementia since November but the topic for him has been off limits and he only talks to Boeser off the record about this stuff, knowing that the family deserved privacy, and also out of respect for Brock and their relationship. Wish the others in attendance had the same respect. It’s not often that Drance is the standard for how local media should act, but definitely today, a few reporters could have learned from his example. My heart goes out to Brock and his family. Sending them my thoughts and best wishes during this difficult time. ❤️ Edited May 1, 2022 by SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME 12 1 4

Having gone though something like this last year, I have so much sympathy for Brock, and admiration that he could function at all this year, and doing it in your 20's. 3 3 1

Better have a Boudreau extension in place before talking to Miller, Bo, and Bess about contracts too. These three lived through the last time the team took the “shocking reset” path, and very likely will not want to be part of another. And not bring8ng Bruce back would send that message.
