I worked with a guy...super fit. Successful. I watched him decline to the point of one day when he had his son with him at work he asked if I could watch him...told me he was going to be sick and didn't want him knowing. It was so unfair...his son was young. He tried to hide the agony of it all and it broke my heart to watch it play out. We lost him not long afterward and all he wanted was to make sure his son was ok...but how can you be?

 

The hopeful story is my Dad's...he battled valiantly and is still around, cracking jokes and taking care of his garden. Really wasn't supposed to be but it sometimes does have a happy ending.
