The New Jersey Devils over the past month have slipped in the Metropolitan Division while @da.moose Capitals have taken top spot. Since last month the Devils have made a few substantial moves in order to help alleviate any roster imbalance as well as clear up the team's goaltending situation. First off, the team utilized a glut of young defensemen to pull off a trade with @Ilunga and the Red Wings to bring in centre William Karlsson. Bringing much needed stability to the centre ice position and potentially a Playoff performer. The team finally saw Frederik Andersen healthy after nearly two months on the IR, having Logan Thompson playing more and more games while also earning an Allstar appearance it was clear that a makeover in goal would be required in order to keep things kosher moving forward. A difficult situation to realize that Andersen had to move on, made harder by the lack of interest league wide for players over the age of 22 years old and earning more than an ELC contract, it came down to four suitors and two really pushed towards the end but a decision was made to agree to a trade with Arizona's @Squeak and the Coyotes. Bringing in young defenseman Nils Lundkvist in the deal was something we are thrilled about and helps add stability to the blueline in New Jersey. Having a need in goal at the NHL level as both prospects knocking on the door in Eetu Makiniemi and David Hrenak having tasted the NHL this season but not yet established the team turned its attention to another Western club, the Kings and veteran General Manager @arby18_ and a deal was reached to bring in another goaltender in Philipp Grubauer to finish out the season as well as add more veteran experience on centre/wing in Alexander Wennberg ( originally drafted by the Devils ). Thanks to all GMs involved in the deals as well as the negotiations by all during the process. Moving forward the team is still listening to clubs that have interest in players for their own Playoff runs, defenseman Brady Skjei remains a focal point, the team however is looking for a younger perhaps less established defenseman in a deal if Brady is to move on, there is an appetite this year versus other years to move potential Playoff pieces to bring in younger less established types. Riley goes on to say, that it has been a breath of fresh air, moving over to Dallas, and says JIAHN runs a great ship, "Everyone is treated like family!" JIAHN, owner, president, GM and stick boy, says "I don't know what has gotten into Riley, but he certainly comes to play! He has been a welcome addition!"
