Beck Malenstyn

Cooper Zech

 

Additionally, pending UFAs Michael McCarron and Michael Stone will not be offered contract extensions.

 

We wish them luck with their future organizations.

Can we increase these thresholds by the same percentage the salary cap increased? @canuck2xtreme

The Redwings congratulate the New Jersey Devils and their GM Mike Vanderhoek on winning the CDCGML Cup.

 

Also we congratulate the Colorado Avalanche for making the cup final, that is an achievement in itself.

You can tell by how fine tuned the numbers are that they are meant to be indexed by the cap.

 

I still think cap should not have gone up given how easy it is to bury salary, but if we are going to increase it we might as well do it properly.

I agree in terms of the salary cap. As GM I made moves and preparations based on the real cap number. The increase is disappointing and affects me. Decisions were made re: Dispersal based on available cap.

 

That said it was put through by the league and as we all have the same number to work with and it does not change the floor I feel with exception of some plans being undermined across the board a little more funny money to play with is fair.

 

I believe discussions are in the works to make it harder to bury cap before this next season starts. That would be a bonus. Some shady GMs had NHL players waived and sitting in the minors this year. No no.
