Barrie would struggle to make Abbotsford's lineup unless he decided to at least try to play acceptable defence. He's absolute trash and I'm very grateful that pylon is in our division, handicapping a rival. Not even remotely true, the overrating is why people don’t take your defensive assessments seriously at all. Barrie is an NHL player, period. Disagree big time. Doesn’t matter. Martin is the backup. Let it go Elsa.

Missed it by one point in one year. Not so much an AHL player at all. Simply can't play a lick of defence. He needs to either move to forward or learn how to play his position. Playing like he does in his own zone is simply not acceptable regardless of offensive output; you can't win when a guy doesn't care if he's playing like trash in his own zone. He simply doesn't belong on an actual NHL team, which is why he is still in Edmonton.

He needs to be a passable Dman. Needs to be paired with a solid defensive partner who shoulders the defensive responsibility. Then he produces offensively. Much like what Hughes did.
