Yep.

The fact that they think a corporate deal or new property development is “major news” shows how out of touch they are with where the fans are at right now.

News like this could be announced with a simple press release.

Are you kidding?

After taking Carolina and Boston to school with those 2 wicked trades

and being on a 2 game heater

This fanbase will be eating out of old Aquas hand

Maybe they will be announcing the parade route

maybe we need a thread title adjustment that reads the room?  “Minor announcement of which no fans really care, because it’s not about signing our captain, which would be major.”

Okay, that’s a crazy long title.  :frantic:

They're getting rid of Fin as a mascot and going with a fuzzy alien.  Ya, that's it!

Are we getting all the Megna’s?

Announcing beer will now be $40 at games?

After so much extra practice golfing, the team is leaving the PGA and going to be competing in the LIV circuit instead?

We concede our chances in the draft lottery as a deal where we can only drop 2 spaces?

Aquilini is going to stop paying team salaries until the players explain their $40,000 computers?

Ryan Reynolds and that “other guy” have decided to buy the team and create a documentary about trying to get it promoted from the minor leagues?

Arena naming rights purchased by the Weinstein Company?

All season tickets holders will receive a free kick in the junk by Lui Passaglia to make watching games seem less unbearable in comparison?

After years in inhumane captivity, Finn will be taken by ship to a remote section of coast and released into the wild?

A heartfelt letter from ownership saying that the team is underperforming and they are going to undergo a complete rebuild.  This will immediately be followed by the announcement we have traded Hughes and our next three 1st round picks for Erik Karlsson?

TV rights will be carried by Russian state sponsored RT Television and Al Jazeera?

NW is a talk/news station. They used to broadcast sports as well. But they were never an exclusive sports station.

I would say CKNW was more than a talk/news station since they broadcasted the Canucks from 1970 to 2006, a span of 36 years,  more than all the other sport stations combined.

There were no such thing as sports radio shows until the last 2 decades.

CKNW also had the BC lions for more than 20 years.

More than likely, a sponsorship or a partnership type deal; and I really hope it is not an, Erik Karlsson type trade - fingers crossed..

Definitely not a trade. It would have been leaked by now. I'm sure Bo signing would have been as well.

I thought maybe we were getting a change in ownership lol. Arena change is kinda big I guess, but it doesn't really impact things on the ice. Maybe TD also bought the rights to the arena name in addition to the jersey ad?
