Popular Post OldFaithfulCap
Wins needed to make playoffs: Canucks 28s RIP Media: TV: Sportsnet Pacific (Canada), Hulu/ESPN+ (USA) Radio: Sportsnet 650 Overview The Canucks arrive in Winnipeg on a high, over .500 for the first time this season and with a shot at 4 wins in a row. While their win total is similar to this time last year, their top 7 players from 2021-22 are averaging 20% more goals and almost 30% more points this season and that explodes to 49% goals and 44% more points when you factor in the additions of Kuzmenko, Mikheyev and Joshua. The Jets are desperate for a win after losing their last three. They continue to suffer injuries but then they were as banged up when they steamrolled Vancouver 5-1 in their last meeting. Winnipeg plays like the 2011-12 Canucks -solid goaltending, effort and scoring off the counter and it makes sense with former Canucks staff Arniel and Bowness as their coaches. Hellebuyck should start and he has an imposing GAA of 2.38. If you study the goals that get past him it's mainly 2 on 1s or in tight. Scheifele (20 goals) Dubois (16) and Connor (15) lead the Jets in goals but they have been quieter in the last 5 games. Winnipeg tried them together in their last loss against the Wild but they have been mixed up as usual in practice this week. The way to counter teams like the Jets is skill, speed and surprise and the Canucks have plenty of that. Vancouver have slowly developed offensive systems - mik down the wing, kuz corner at the side of the net, the Captain Bo's Quarter in front redirecting plus some miller magic and of course Pettersson wizardry. The Canucks will need that and they'll need energy and hitting to break down a solid opponent. Vancouver won't be taking this game lightly and may be still stinging from their last game against the Jets. They know that they need to pile up the wins if they are going to make the playoffs. Delia was first off ice and will start per Cheech. Martin was expected to start but CanucksArmy (more a secondary source) has Delia as first off the ice. Travis Dermott is likely to play his first game this season in the bottom d-pairing. It's time for some Canucks revenge in Manitoba and time to move on up. Let's go Canucks and get another Win. StanleyCupOneDay
Dermott! I’ve been anxiously awaiting his return to our lineup because I still don’t think we’ve seen his full potential yet from his limited playing time for us. That and Stillman sits, win-win.

grandmaster
Red wings just came back from a 4-0 deficit and won 5-4 versus the Pens! Wow, that’s worse than any of the losses we sustained in our first couple months!

Wow, that’s worse than any of the losses we sustained in our first couple months! HA! No way! The last time I looked at the score it was 4-0. Didn't look again until I read your post.
