It's alot worse, but your blindness to it because of your desperation to move Miller at any cost can't see it...

And you better believe I'm desperate for them to move Miller.........we all should be.

The thing people are forgetting in their mad rush to dump Miller is that management most likely has zero interest in trading him

They could have last year numerous times as the season was lost early no matter what the Boudreau bump showed.

The likelihood of them trading him now is already slim let alone finding a dance partners that wants him for 8 years

Miller is not even on the trade block.  They re-signed him for another 7 years.  So we are stuck with him whether we like it or not.  It's getting so bad people are willing to dump him to get a 3C in return with a worse contract.  It's crazy really...

Miller at 70 points at $8 million is far better than KK at 25 points at $5 million.  Why can't you see that?  Why would we want to be paying a 3C almost $5 million?

One is 30 and declining, one (a 3rd overall) is 22 and still developing.

One will be untradable until his contract expires, one will likely have decent value as his term decreases and more so if he finds his game.

One is an actual C and a good 200 ft player, one is a w and mostly allergic to defensive play

One of those contracts gives the Canucks $3.5m of cap space, one eats up $4m of cap.space

I thought everyone but Petey was on the menu.  You're fooling yourself if you think they're not seriously listening to potential deals for miller.  This is their last chance for a few years and it's pretty clear miller isn't the player they thought he was

Not that I'm big on JK, but to clarify...people aren't willing to dump Miller (or Bo, who's a better fit for Carolina anyway) for JK. They're willing to move him to get the cap space, prospects, draft picks and youth that better fit this team's timeline.

Nobody is suggesting Miller straight up for JK.

CDC is so desperate to get rid of Miller they are willing to take back an even worse player with an even worse contract...

if the cost to rid miller is just to save 3mil but for a player that'll be 50 point less in production.. i might as well be on the keep miller bandwagon. how can anyone think KK is not a huge risk?? on the canucks 3rd line.. he prolly won't even hit 20 points.. a defensive 3c that can't even put up 40 points at 5mil is a disaster cap wise.

Why is management cuffed to miller?  His NTC doesn't kick in until next season.

Simple business.  It shouldn't be hard to understand that management dug their grave with this contract.

They signed an 8 year 8 million to a guy in a career year which is the kiss of death.  While being a cap team with no assets and no success in a decade.

Nobody is going to line up to do Vancouver favours and take him just because.  When the trade happens it will be absolutely to the benefit of the team acquiring him.  Whether that is retention or assets added in is up for debate

But make no mistake this is a contract management is now married to and nothing is going to change that.  Not opinion, strong feelings or strawman arguments.  This league doesn't do Vancouver favours.

Do you think it'd be miller for Kot straight up?  Is that what you're circling around?

I’d be excited about a Miller for Kotkaniemi Trade.  I see Kotkaniemi as an ideal 3C behind Petey and Bo.  He’s a nasty piece of crap and has skill.

10 for Petey

7.5 for Bo

5 for JK

We could run out pairs of:

Petey and Kuz Missile

Bo and Mik

JK and Podzilla

I'm not desperate.  Only the hardcore Horvat fans who think he is the Messiah even though he has led us to nowhere in almost 9 years are the desperate ones...

Interesting to note that this is Miller's 4th year with the club, and yet he hasn't led the team to the play offs.

It's almost like no single player can do it on their own, or something.

Miller is a top line player who could push like Carolina over the top and keep them.there for a few years.  Not like he's a useless player and the Canucks are trying to dump him.  He'll make whichever team gets him much better.

Circumstances have changed since they signed that deal, I'm sure even this management team sees that.  They have one last window to fix their mistake

Wasn’t Miller on the bubble playoff team?
