The first is a throw in that probably won’t equal anything that’s just the odds. Mercer looks good but it’s early. He’s not even playing center for the Devils right now. Is he gonna be the answer to our second line center problem? Because if he’s not that doesn’t do a lot for us. Nemec is the biggest piece of this deal because of hype. Do we really wanna trade a young star defenseman for hype? Let’s be honest we’d be lucky if he even came close to Hughes level. Right so you get a player who will likely be every bit as good as Hughes (likely better) and 21 year old C who is already very well established as a scoring fwd, a first round pick and maybe a cap dump player like severson.
