He could also become a PP specialist type Dman along the lines of a Marc-Andre Bergeron (yeah, that’s a throwback). He has a great offensive skill set and wheels, and is probably disenfranchised with his lack of progress within the org. He'd build a large island, timbit table, where CDC'ers could sit & argue over potential 6th rd picks. Perhaps another nearby table for mods. Forget this AI existence..to mollify the PuckGawds we should all (occasionally)go back to 1970's & 80's day to day. Makes no sense at this stage. We need spots open for young players to get an opportunity. He still wants to play, it makes the most sense he'd like to go for a cup. His bank account can't be a factor at this time given what he took in LA. We could do worse then Edler as a depth guy. As far as sentiment goes, give him a one day deal so he can retire as a Canuck. Or maybe sign him during the season if we get into injury problems on the left side, and even give him a shot.
