[Eklund] Rangers may have made a deal?

Recommended Posts

That will never happen.

Why not? You're going to have to contribute to the discussion with more than opinion.

Richards has been talked about as possible buyout at seasons end, A trade would be better obviously. Kane coming back even better. Winnipeg desperately needs top centers. Brad Richards could be that key piece. MDZ is a delightful throw in and the Blue Shirts get that sweet solid winger they need or want for their top 6. Added Kane's ego would be well received in New York

Edmonton laughs at that deal, Winterpeg laughs heartily at it.

Why? Actually present an argument against it.

Here are some FACTS

Reports are that Omark wants out of the Edmonton system and is debating a move back to Europe with a bird to Edmonton on the way out the door. Edmonton needs defensemen. MDZ is a defenseman. A 2nd round pick isn't really much in a shallow draft. So you base this off of what?

The Rangers need a solid franchise winger to play behind or beside Nash. The Jets desperately need a #1 center and a shoring up of the defense while Trouba rounds into form. The Rangers are also on record as apparently wanting to have bought out Richards last off season or even this off season. It fits.

So please oh wise one, tell me why in your mind this gets laughed at? And don't forget to show your work and not just smarmy nothing comments.

Or they might get laughed at

Van Callahan Brassard

NYR Burrows Edler

Sedin-Sedin-Callahan

Higgins-Kesler-Santo

Booth-Brassard-Kassian

Sestito-Richardson-Weise

The Rags get 2 players that thrived under AV and the Sedin's get a top line RW to play alongside them while Brassard adds depth to the 3rd line and could move to the 2nd line wing if was needed to and the Rags can trade DZ to Edmonton or Winnipeg for an offensive pushback to counter losses

Winnipeg makes more sense than Edmonton. Maybe Del Zotto+++ for Kane?

A Defence going to WPG actually makes zero sense.

Seriously why would WPG even consider trading kane away unless it's going to replace the glaring offence from the loss of subtracting kane in their line up.

Would we trade both sedins for a Dman?

Would we trade Kesler for a goalie?

1) WPG doesn't have the cap

2) Richard's contract is as bad as Luongo's. Has little to no trade value if they haven't been able to get ride of him yet.

3) Why trade for Richards when he will be a UFA if they buy him out at the end of the year.

4)It'll take about Del zotto+++ for Kane

So the most recet headlines from Eklund in recent weeks include:

- Rumors of Rangers Deal.

- Rumors, Blues, Flyers, Rangers, Jets, Bruins, Canucks, Flames, Kings, Isles, +

- Couturier Value on the Rise...Edmonton interest continues...

- Caps want Edler. Some info on Habs and Avs. The Habs Are Targeting:

- Banged Up Bluelines - Gleason Trade Discussions Heating Up

- Habs/Avalanche Talks "Something Major." Del Zotto, Gleason, Kings/Sabres...

Anyway, the point being that none of these deals have happened, nor have any other ones that Eklund "breaks". As said before, Eklund's rumors should be posted in the "Armchair GM" forum.
