Shipachyov and Dadonov "Free to Leave the KHL"

Both of them have had multiple successful KHL seasons. There was rumors that Shipachyov was close to signing an NHL contract last summer before returning to Russia, so I would say out of the two, he's most likely to come over.

Obviously there is risk with every KHL migration signing. For every Panarin, there is your Brunnstrom. However, Shipachyov has good size and would be worth a look IMO. Could be a potential Top 6 center for cheap (assuming his asking price isn't absurd), and not many of those come around.

Why would either of them choose the Canucks?

Canucks will pull a cOiler and get Pavel Bure to call them.  Pavel will get Putin on the phone too - they are neighbours after all....

Clearly this board isn't aware of the Canucks' history with Russians. Doubt they would even consider signing with the Canucks.

Even if you ignore that, there's tax issues, as well as the fact the Canucks are a terrible team right now.

Wouldn't he surprised if Dadonov found himself back in Florida.

Probably. Shipachyov is a better option at 2C right now than Michael Chaput.

But if they aren't coming over until the end of the season, does it matter that injuries have forced Chaput higher in our roster than he should be?
