It's official, "call me Goldy"

Bowie Horvat

For the rest of this season, I hope he gets put in situations (top 6) where he can showcase his offensive talents. The rounded, 200' game can come later.  This team is brutally offensively (Horvat excluded) and needs to start pushing the offensive side of the game.  I like how Winnipeg put Laine in a purely offensive role, told him to score goals and told him they would teach him the defensive side of the game over time.

Some players are Porsches not SUVs.

But will Willie trust him... I wouldnt be surprised to rarely see him over the first few games. I dont think WD was too thrilled with JBs comments about playing some of the younger players/prospects the remainder of the season.

I would hope Benning backs up those comments by firing Willie if he still can't figure out how to set the lineup.

He will have to earn the ice time, like most. That said with the Gm saying he wants young players to play, Willie has  more latitude to play the young and develop rather than having to sweat for wins.

Must be weird from a Coach's perspective.

On one hand, you go against your bosses wishes and don't play the young guys that you don't trust yet to try and win games.

On other hand, you do what your boss wants, but by doing so might end up losing even more games, by wider margins and when the axe comes down because of losing that much, likely his head on the chopping block.

Third option, maybe WD is just a f***ing moron who has no idea how to set his lines and thinks to himself "I wonder how long I can keep this charade up!?"

The remaining schedule is more of a test, than a "show" for Desjardins..

Its a "show" for players, but only if WD allows them enough fair opportunity, and time to gain chemistry and rythym.. No prospect now should play 7 mins or less.

Here's the bullet :

He has the same douchy "swag" hipster style that Virtanen rocks.

Yeah I guess that's what the kids these days are wearing, also if you're really hip you'll get the sides of your head shaved with it way longer on top
