Doesn't strike me as overly optimistic, given the OP is talking about "ultimate upside" and "best case scenario."

What I'm wondering about is what they mean by a "bottom 6 D?"

A defenceman that can play up front on the third/fourth line? :P

Meant to say bottom pairing or bottom 4 defense.

And I don't think these are too optimistic either. Do you not expect our high 1st round picks to pan out as premier players?

And instead of criticising my optimistic projections why don't you reply with your own projections?

Actually I was defending your projections. A few posters before had said they were overly optimistic and I pointed out they were reasonable within the context you had defined.

As for "bottom 6 D" I kinda figured that's what you meant but I'd also seen the term used a few times today in other threads and wasn't sure if that was indeed the intended meaning.

Garts' is gone. Canucks didn't qualify him. Told him to beat it.

Those are dream world comparisons.  Horvat - Bergeron??? Juolevi - Vlasic??? Petterson - Backstrom??? Those are all world players, starting lineup olympian players.  They may share some vague similarities in style but those are some serious reaches.

It says ultimate upside there, buddy. We're having fun.

Granlund is better all around than Cogliano.

Goldobin will never be near Kucherov

Gajdovich will be better offensively than McGinn

Other than that if you are going for absolute nest case it seems about right.  We all know that they won't all reach it of course

Holeesmokes, L2..just back from a park run(typhoon approaching from west..Shikoku/Kyushu), & looking like a drowned seadog. I don't know who's famous anymore..nor do I really give a hoot(with all due respect to egotistical-celebs!)

One suggestion I had(coupla' months back) was a 2017 Hollywood re-do(cos' that's all they're prob good for now) of the 1980's hit, 48 HRS! Starring Brock Boeser & Jordan Subban. I think it's a winner.

No, no, no and no again.. why is everyone compare our prospects with current or former NHLer?!

Don't do this.. your expectations are high, if you compare a kid who's drafted 10 days ago, with a NHler in his prime.

Did you compare a Backstrom 11y ago with a Peter Forsberg or someone else?

Petterson is Petterson, Horvat is Horvat and Virtanen is Virtanen.
