NO COMPLIANCE BUYOUTS

Recommended Posts

Evidently there was a vote and it was a unanimous result or at least defeated.

I am getting tired of so many "sweeteners" to fix Benning's mistakes, the "sweetener" is always a draft pick, young NHL player or top prospect. Like this team is a cup contender, it is still a rebuilding or should be, team.

Ok what's plan 'B' for the GM's/Owners who are up against a decreasing cap with player's they would like to sign and rosters they would like to fill out?

They don't plan on decreasing the cap - that's why they don't feel the need to offer compliance buyouts.  They are talking of dealing with the losses through an adjustment of escrow.

Owners don't want the additional cost of compliance buyouts per Friedman.  Players probably don't want them either - allowing for compliance buyouts would increase their escrow even more.

Kinda figured, but just for s**ts and giggles, how about a source?

How many sweeteners have we given up so far to get out of bad contracts?

Yes per Eliot.NHL owners are completely against compliance buyouts

Judging by the number of wins vs loses, not any, just keeping those bad deals going or letting players go for free, although maybe no teams want those players because they just aren't good enough for the rest of the NHL.

IMO giving up any future at all for a rebuilding team is bad mmanagement, now for a cup contender it might be different to give up picks especially if new players could not crack the line up anyway.

JB has laid out a plan ,  the plan is to have 6 to 8 young players  that have been drafted or already in the system in the line up  over the next 2 years ,  Hoglander .Podi Big Mack Rafferty Lind, etc  . JB has also said wants to sign Trymakin, , resign Marky Toffoli  and Tanev   and try and recoup a draft pick if he can ,   sounds like plan right ?

so this comes back to the miller trade and the toffoli trade basically ,  miller and the 1st , miller is  a player the canucks were seriously lacking , size. grit and scoring,  and under contract ,  toffoli  good pick up for the spot we were in with Boesser going down .   , All teams have to let players go for free that's why its called free agency lol , you don't see teams in hunt for the playoffs  trade away pending free agents ,   if the kings were in the playoff hunt they would of never traded toffoli

No Tags. No Source. No Substance.

If you want to complain about Benning I believe there are a few threads for that already. If you would like to bring some new substantiated information (with a source) to the table then please feel free to make a new thread (in the proper subforum) with a bit more substance. Thanks.
