In a perfect world I would keep all three and move Brandon Sutter and Loui Eriksson to free up the cap space needed to keep them. As unlikely as that is to keep all three I would have to agree with the op on this one. Toffoli has fit in really well with the team and Markstrom is a solid goalie. Which Makes Tanev expendable unfortunately and if he could stay healthy would be my option to keep him. Keep Toffoli, Markstrom say goodbye to Tanev

I think at one point Minnesota was trying to ask for Boeser for Zucker straight up totally not worth the value for a straight trade between Zucker and Boeser let alone adding in Kaprizov. Boeser to me is one of our Franchise players.

I'm not saying he is a positive example quite the opposite I didn't like him in Vancouver and when they first announced his hiring I was disappointed. Point of it is what he was frustrated by is an example of how the officiating is inconsistent.

Torts was always a hothead but if you look past that and see the point he is making is he wrong? Refs cost them the game and he gets super emotional about it. These guys make millions even coaches make millions every year and risk losing there job if the team they are coaching doesn't perform you can see why someone would get heated over a bad call. I would and so would a lot of other people. Maybe it could have been expressed in a better way or give torts some time to calm down before he gets interviewed but either way I can understand why he is heated over the situation.

hate to disagree but Penguins sending Pearson to Vancouver was a great move not seeing the negatives here Edmonton, Ottawa, Columbus/Winnipeg Its a toss up between Columbus and Winnipeg but at the end of the day I think Columbus is worse off then the Jets as the Jets still have a lot of good talent where as Columbus has Foligno to complain about all the star players leaving

the team gets harder to play against definitely be contending for a playoff spots and its clear Benning has a plan for Sutter/Eriksson/Baerstchi pretty hard to start the season with that many players but I imagine they have a deal in the works

probably I don't like Masvidal horrible personality, Askren was dumb for trying to grab his legs guy running at you, you don't duck down to try to wrestle him lol. Honestly don't care for either fighter so its whatever the extra shots at the end were unnecessary since he was completely out after the knee. I was cheering for Holm I liked how she knocked out Rousey and same with Nunes KOing Rousey too heh trying to prove she was a bad ass and listened too much to her bad coach that she could box with the best. pretty close fight for Jones and Santos I was rooting for Santos there but I could see why Jones won the decision he did slightly edge out Santos but if Santos didn't have the knee/shin problem right there the fight could have just as easily went the other way. Jones definitely was worried about the power of Santos I like watching his fights he gets some good knockouts. the Luke Rockhold fight I missed because my power went out right as the second round started which is when he got knocked out. So I was very annoyed been looking around online trying to find the highlight for that fight so I could see what happened.

will be hard for Toronto to free up 8-9 mil in cap space with only 3.7 mil of cap space available. It will be exciting to see if they could do it.

with the current RFA's Vancouver has still need to Sign Leivo and Boeser freeing up some cap space would be ideal Tanev for there Third or Fourth?

Yeah I was gonna say Goldobin on the top line would be a step backwards I could see him filling that third or 4th line role no problem he still has a lot to prove and this could be a good year for him to do so.

yeah totally agree if they would have traded tanev and/or Loui Eriksson then Vancouver would have the cap to sign another top 6 forward but alas not possible with there current situation and there is not a lot of value for Eriksson.

To be fair you can't really judge the future which is what any GM will do when it comes to trades. It's all about Chemistry between linemates and a good example of this would be Loui Eriksson and the Sedins at the World Cup of Hockey. There line was amazing at the World Cup but it didn't translate very well when playing in an NHL Game. I Wished they had grabbed more 1st round draft picks in previous years I think Benning played it too carefully or more likely wasn't going to be able to get more 1st round draft picks because of all the NTC and NMC's that were handed out from Mike Gillis. Who knows what happens behind those closed doors and we will probably never know.

Luongo was my favorite Canucks goalie. Unfortunately that Salary recapture is brutal GMMG horrible decisions still rearing there ugly heads but its whatever now at this point. can anyone explain the recapture and why Vancouvers portion is higher then Florida's, did they frontload the Contract like they always do is that why?
