  1. Watching the Islanders @ Yotes game and all I hear are fans cheering for the Islanders. Pretty embarrassing franchise especially since the two cities aren't exactly close.

I respect their work ethic too, but all the more reason they don’t deserve to play there. This would never happen to any other major sports league. Their college team probably brings in more home fans ffs.

You should go on their Reddit forum. What a bunch of delusional fans. All four of them.

  2. Nylander playing more physical than Virtanen ever did in the playoffs rn. Who would’ve thought?

We have Podz to make up for it.

  3. Can someone please explain the Bruce There It Is chants?

So, they still call him Bruce???

  4. I would imagine Podz has gotta make the team at this point.

Oh for sure.  Pods is the type of player who can play on any line, and in any role.  He basically carried his line tonight.

I wouldn't be surprised if Green sends him down to the AHL. I really don't like how he's been handling his players this preseason.

Jett Woo has barely been given time to play and he's been overplaying Rathbone.

Hilarious. 7 PPs and Rathbone plays more minutes than Juolevi, who's been nearly 5 minutes penalty killing.

      kanucks25

Don't understand why so many fans are hellbent on forcing him into the day 1 NHL lineup. It won't hurt for him to get his legs under him in the AHL. If he plays very well for the remainder of the preseason then sure but right now, it's just 1 good exhibition game.

  5. Jason Robertson is underrated

  6. If this year's draft used standings from the season before, would you defer our first round pick or use it?

no you have it wrong goalie13

if nucks miss the playoffs the pick stays

so you are missing all the points of the question

if the nucks have an option

i say they use the pick asap

and happily give up the pick next off season

      team is on the upswing

and using the pick now only strengthens the team a year early

@coastal.view, unlike the Gretzky thing, I think I have it right this time.

From CapFriendly "*Conditions: If the Canucks do not make the playoffs in 2019-20, the 2020 1st round pick will transfer to a 2021 1st round pick instead."

Either way, they can't choose to defer.  It's entirely based on where they wind up in the standings.

      ok

though we speak the same language

      we are speaking it differently

      but not worth debating further

  7. Imagine being the Rangers looking back at the McDonough trade thinking how they not only traded their top defenseman, but somehow giving up JT Miller as an add-on as well.

Well the Rags originally got him from the Habs for trash Gomez (at least he was trash at the time he was dealt).

Actually feel for the Panthers who made moves to clear up cap space (like effing US up when Luongo retired) to try and sign free agent Panarin and Panarin  ends up signing with the Rags.  Panarin currently has 36 points in 29 games for them.

  8. Canuck's play has been sloppier than week old leftover's

  9. Even the Ducks knew not to mess with Wilson. They had to hold him back from killing Guhle.

Late in the 2nd that game turned Nasty. Leipsic & GudBran featured prominently in a brouhaha!

Hathaway gets a match..prob for a dirty takedown?

  10. I'm ok with today's loss. Two RHD injured most of the game, and a great performance by Hellebuyck. Had Bo scored could've easily gone to OT.

  11. Horrific start by Petey so far, currently tied with a couple of no-name players I've never heard of. Really expected more from him after having bought his jersey. #PressboxPete ;)

  12. Reminder that Boston drafted Zboril, Debrusk and Senyshyn before Barzal, Connor, Chabot, White, Samsonov, Boeser, Konecny and Aho

They were indeed, my buddy is a Bruins fan and it never fails to put him in a bad mood every time I bring it up. They could've picked almost any other player that came after and it would've worked out for them.

    3. Ossi Vaananen

      Ossi Vaananen

Zboril was maybe 7-10 picks early, but Sensyshyn was ranked well into the 2nd.

Carlo in the 2nd round saved that draft for them though. Debrusk is a solid winger.

    4. saucypass

      saucypass

Debrusk definitely we both agree that albeit not the best pick, was definitely a solid pick that plays well with their culture and style. Carlo he seems to feel so-so about, still not enough to make him forgive Sweeney for his misses in the first.

Imagine if Boston drafted the 3 players right after...

  13. First live NHL game in Boston! Did not expect 13 goals to be scored, really happy we got the win

  16. Do the Canucks have what it takes to trade up to #1? Probably not... but just wondering.

Thanks for the input guys. Man, it would've been nice to see Dahlin with Pettersson... hopefully we get Boqvist but I don't know if he'll fall to 7th either...

doesn't matter if the canucks have enough. no one is giving up number 1 pick.

  17. Exasperated from all the Jake Virtanen arguing around here. He's an incredibly disappointing prospect not playing nearly as good as what we drafted him to be, with potential to turn it around and still be an NHL player that can contribute on the third line. If he turns out to be anything more, that'd be great. Now if we could all just accept that, that would be great.

@Warhippy But yeah man, flabbergasted, great word hahaha. Kind of glad we have Dahlen and Goldobin now, kind of really makes me care less and less about Virtanen now to be honest. Means that we have more prospects who has the potential to carry us to the promise land someday.

If he only becomes a third line winger that's still fine in my books. He has the potential to be the foundation of that line for many years to come just like Hansen was. Everyone hear hopes he finds his game sooner than later.

  18. All these teams with no problems scoring... except for us.

  19. Hi, we are the Vancouver Canucks. We want high scoring young players who turn into grinders and we also want young players to show that they can score goals at this level with just 5 minutes of playing time per game!

  20. Seeing all these great young players around the league dominate makes me wish we had some high end young talent as well. Seems like even when we suck to the bottom of the league we miss out. Not trying to bash on our team's players, just really jealous. Hope we'll get some young sure fire franchise players soon enough. (Or just one would be great too.)

It certainly makes me envious. I hope Boeser and Juolevi reach their potential. They both have high ceilings and have the ability to be dynamic players. Unfortunately it's not often that players like McDavid and Matthews come along.
