Niloc009
I wouldn't. In a year like this, I would rather have the 6th pick, and the 10th (if we can get it in a Kesler deal) aswell as Tanev than just the first. I would give up Tanev & our pick, but honestly, as great as Reinhart is, I don't see him as that must have prospect, if we were to trade up, I would give alot of interest to Ekblad as I think there's potential for him to be a franchise player, but I don't know if Reinhart will be a franchise player. I mean if FLA offered up a good offer for us for that pick, and we took Reinhart, I wouldn't be throwing stuff through my TV screen, but at the same time, I would be very happy picking at #6 and getting Ehlers or maybe MDC. But we need to take the chance when it's presented to us. Reinhart could be the guy we're looking for to replace the twins, and we may not get another chance like this for a while. Certainly not getting a top 5 pick next year unless we finish that low, nobody will wanna trade those picks.

MoneypuckOverlord
Nylander was Sweden's best player at the u17. Opposite end of the spectrum virtannen was Canada's best player at the u17 , I'm not trying to convince you guys we should pick him, but he's vastly underrated. Every team will like a hard hitting, fast skating deadly puck shooting winger on their team. He's a safe pick and out off all the top 30 ranked players only virtannen listed the canucks as his favourite team .

Only players who'll eventually request a trade outta here are wanted.

So yes to drafting Reinhart we need a 1C prospect.

elvis15
Again, your just in denial..... data was not published YES IT IS KIND SIR, AND THE LINK IS POSTED ON MY Sig. It's nothing to hide, it's not top secret classified bull crap. Those are the post combine results. the previous link was NHL.com updating their final listings, pre combine work outs they used statistics from sources like that. the numbers provided at the time are not accurate. how? Julias Honka is listed at 5'7???? do you honestly believe he's 5'7????? The kid is 5'11. Either way it lose lose anyways. Ehlers is not 6'0 feet tall, he's not... ... That doesn't say anywhere it's an official post-combine results measurement. There's a combine list, that has heights and weights, but then the actual combine results are separate and listed below the heights and weights. In fact, the only ones that look up to date are the ones that were released with the top 10 for both height and weight, of which any of the smaller, lighter players wouldn't show up on. Give me one that explicitly says they are the actual heights and weights from the combine and doesn't show some that look correct and others that look old and then I'll consider it accurate. Well we could have gone Johnny checking fwd- bob shutdown center- frank 2nd/3rd line winger Darcy tough guy- Daryl gritty face off/PK specialist- someone better than Archibald To rd out the bottom 6. Top 6 looked plausible.

Plum
It does, if you click the players names actually. Eliteprospects, while fairly reliable, can be behind a bit sometimes considering how many prospects they keep track of on their database. The combine did just finish after all. I don't think the NHL heights and weights are updated because Ehlers isn't 5'10 IMO, he's around 5'11-6.
Mr.53
If we had 1st overall & didn't take Ekblad I would be unhappy. I wouldn't. Defencemen are generally more of a risk than forwards. That's why it's so rare that you see the first overall pick go to a defencman. Erik Johnson also didn't help the case. He's had a pretty good career honestly, but compared to other first overall forward picks, not even close really. I wouldn't be surprised if Ekblad dropped to EDM. Seth Jones dropped to 4 and he was considered to be tied, if not given the edge for the first overall pick. Even Colorado, a team in need of defencmen, still didn't take the risk. I don't think he's saying they will all pan out, but look at that depth. Chances are, at least some of them will pan out. Each one of those prospects looks promising, yeah some will flop, but I honestly think not that many.

Off_The_Schneid!
I think there's a good chance that we trade up with our 6th + and draft reinhart And also trade Kesler for the 10th + and draft virtanen Reinhart and Virtanen + either a 24th and 32nd or both Happy? My feelings have kinda changed (thats an old post you quoted) I would be fine with Reinhart, but Ekblad IMO has the highest potential in the draft, only player out of the top 5 with true franchise player potential IMO, but who knows if he hits it or becomes a decent #1/2 like Johnson.
