He's been hitting like a Mack truck lately, and his reverse slam on Kronwall is a highlight of the year already. He can skate and score and has shown the player he can be. Not saying he should be dropping the gloves as frequently as what Dorsett does, but at least a few times per year. None of those staged fights, but where a teammate takes a cheapshot (a la Boeser) or when trying to make a statement when the team needs a boost or when you feel the team is being pushed around too much. He drafted him, would he draft him again if he could? He really doesn't have to be in the capacity of the Canucks organization to do that. I know as he neared the end of his career things turned a little sour for him and he had depression, etc. This can be a good focus for him, and make him feel like a winner again ensuring his prodigy succeeds. I just don't want the Canucks emulating what the Oilers have done in giving jobs to people with ties to the organization just because they were good players during their playing days. Good players don't always make the best coaches, GMs or even talent evaluators. If Bert wants to be a mentor then that would be great, I get the sense Jake could really use someone like that. If he wants to coach I would be a little more wary. Green has been working with Jake for a while now, instilling good work habits and trying to get him to be consistent in his effort at both ends of the ice.
