tera_ha
Lou stays as their president http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2015/05/lou_lamoriello_out_as_devils_gm_stays_as_president.html
c00kies
Finally...now the Devils can actually re-build. It'll take awhile with all those high picks lost, so they really don't have much coming up in the pipelines.
oldnews
I think his reputation exceeds him - imo Shero is over-rated.
Chronic.Canuck
Lou's era is coming to an end.
DeltaSwede
Its been awhile now that Lou should step down from the GM position. Good move by Lou and the Devils organization.
asian player
Weak team, weak prospects pool. It'll take time
RonMexico
But doesn't the president of hockey ops still make all the decisions? Could have sworn that by reading this board that Trevor Linden has all the decision making power.
D-Money
I think his reputation exceeds him - imo Shero is over-rated. I don't know...I'm impressed with how he continually was able to acquire deadline-deal players to supplement the roster, and yet still end up with a pretty decent stable of young players/prospects (Maata, Bennett, Pouliot, Harrington, etc...). And the Jordan Staal deal, considering the circumstances, was grand larceny. Although, to be fair, that probably had to do more with the ineptitude of the current Penguins GM than the masterful skills of the former one. I thought he repeatedly over-paid with those deadline deals - and most of them were to supplement his forward group - when their problems were always a porous back end - with the odd exception being a gross overpayment (as most of his rentals were) for a guy like Douglas Murray. He made some decent deals (Staal deal to Carolina) but overall I think he deserved to lose his job - I certainly had no confidence in his team-building abilities (not that I cared, because I don't care for that team). hatedkid666
About time. Their team is built up of washed up free agents

MJDDawg
Bylsma to NJ? Good move. Have been surprised that nobody moved on Shero sooner. I honestly thought that both would end up in the centre of the universe. Bylsma to NJ now makes sense and probably a good fit for that team. CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Shero is going to turn the NJ Devils back into a respectable team again. As much respect I have for Lou, he was taking that team down a really bad path. No direction from him
TOMapleLaughs
The Devils just made the finals recently. It's not like Lou is clueless. It's just that he's probably tired and doesn't want to fully orchestrate another rebuild as GM. Staying on as President means he's still a shot-caller anyway. on the cycle
I think his reputation exceeds him - imo Shero is over-rated. Agreed. Don't know how you win executive of the year by destroying your future and over paying for players out of their prime.
Keslerific
Very interesting move, will he interesting to see them do a rebuild. I've always liked the Devils franchise for some reason, always loved Brodeur. Hopefully Shero moves some of the dead weight forwards they have to help turn things around. They have a few decent D prospects but overall one of the worst prospects pools in the league so it will take a lot to turn things around.
LaBamba
I would have bet the house on him going to TO, good thing I didn't. I woulda looked silly and would be homeless.
Baer.
Right time. Lou's done great but it's time to pass the reigns. Signing aging free agents year after year won't win you a cup.
