Agreed, whenever I hear people saying too expose guys like Edler or Sutter Im left speechless. Those guys have value going forward, whether thats via trade or as leaders on the team. Trade em, don't lose em for nothing.

What happened to the 'asset management' crowd? Gotta trade off vets for seventh round picks but sure let's toss Guddy and Sutter aside. Not like we gave up assets to acquire in the first place!

It's baffling

And the ironic thing about that is that same group would be calling for Benning's head if said vets were traded for that little.

haha exactly, if Benning announced a trade before expansion( Sutter for a 4th.) People would be pissed. Yet they'd expose him and get nothing. I just don't get it sometimes

Common sense, not actually common.

Can we just do this rebuild properly at the draft please. There's no reason why we can't take back a few bad contracts to get some good picks.

Tanev and edler should both be gone for 1sts + cap dump.

Top 2 plus foote and Thomas, 2 2nds

boom done let's go

for next year we need to do what I hate to say but what the leafs did, sign two or three players UFA's and at the TDL trade them for picks as next year and so on after keep our players down to develope properly, in two years after this year we should be a great team if we can do this, plus draft good

Oh and when do we get the draft, every 15 years or so we should get a draft or all star game and since we got the  all star game last we should be getting the draft any year now

If we win either pick 1 or 2 in the lottery I hope we expose Sutter in the expansion draft. It would be nice to shed his salary and open a spot for Patrick or Hischier. The only problem I see would be our lack of PK guys. I doubt JB does it anyways.

You're crazy man.

Why expose somebody with good value?

The goal isn't to give away good players for free to create a great Vegas team.

But he makes too much money, so best we get rid of him because of cap spa... well, okay we don't need that but just don't like him anyway so turf him out for nothing so Subban can play... I mean, Grenier.  Oh, then with Vegas being better they can spank us and we'll lose more and get a better draft pick the next few years.

Make sense now?

It's hard being a Canucks fan.

Couple whacks is the head with a hammer might help me fit in.

Did Liljegrin really fall out of the 1st round?

I doubt it, but that would be a great pick with our early 2nd!

Just North American list here.

Oops!

Every prospect is risky. I think Liljigren is more of a sure thing than Juolevi.

Aren't there major concerns about his defensive play? I keep hearing mixed reviews about him. Some say stay away and don't even take him in the 1st rd and other people have top 3...
