Your roster has no where near the size of Columbus. I suspect at some point a choice will have to be made between Baer and Goldobin.

I think you're relying on getting one of the top 2 picks. I'm not confident that anyone outside of the top 2 can play in the NHL immediately. In the likely event that we fall out of the top 2, we'll have to wait a year or so until our pick is NHL-ready.

He has the second best corsi behind Brendan Gaunce. Obviously for these two guys a good corsi number is not translating into offense! The way I describe Erickson's play this year, is that he looks like more a good 2 million dollar player than a bad 6 million dollar player. I'm not discounting Loui just yet, although I really wish he hadn't been signed to such a long contract. Erickson is a perennial 25-30 goal scorer and pretty good in other aspects of the game. Like most of the other players on the team, he had a disappointing year, but I think the odds are on his side to return to relative form next season.

I think he is a pretty good hockey player overall. Also his first year in Boston was just as bad with 10 goals. Sure he picked up more assists but that Boston team also scored more. Solid two-way game and can complement the right set of players offensively.
CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Benning said he wanted to use a Dman to acquire a scoring winger, but my concern is that you are going to have a log jam of them this coming season, honestly I don't see a lot of room for another addition unless we find a way to subtract out too. As well he is going to look in the free agents route to find some scoring to help so add that to the pile. Daniel-Henrik-_____ Baertschi-Horvat-Eriksson Granlund-Sutter-______ _____-_____-Dorsett these are the only players upfront I see a lock up front. team needs to add some Right hand shooters, and some physical presence in the top 9. Tre Mac
Please Lord Jeebus, bless this man with the ability to put the biscuit in the basket again. We need 30 goals not 30 points. Hopefully a new coaching staff will give him that metaphoric kick in the rear that he appears to need. I hope they don't stick him with Bo next year, Bo made every linemate look good and we need that offense spread out over at least 3 lines. Baerstchi Horvat Boeser Sedin Sedin Goldobin the Golden Goblin xxxxxxxx Sutter Eriksson xxxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx Going to be a negative nelly and assume the Canucks don't get a top 2 pick. It's going to be another rough year regardless.

He and Granlund are basically our top two forwards outside of the triple B line and both have shown flashes of working with the twins, so whichever one works better with them earns that spot while the other one gets Sutter and Eriksson. That's the way I see it anyways.

apollo
Anyone here tried buying out his contract? Apparently 21 mill of it was signing bonuses... which means even if we buy him out, we save absolutely no cap (well we save 533k) Loui Eriksson is 31 years old at the date of the buyout Salary remaining: $7,000,000 (with an additional $21,000,000 in signing bonuses remaining) The buyout ratio is 2/3, which results in a total buyout cost of $4,666,667 There are 5 years remaining on this contract The buyout will be spread out over 10 years The annual buyout cost is $466,667 The buyout cap hit is displayed in the far right column Buyout Details SEASON SALARY INITIAL CAP HIT ACTUAL COST SAVINGS BUYOUT CAP HIT 2017-18 $1,000,000 $6,000,000 $466,667 $533,333 $5,466,667 2018-19 $1,000,000 $6,000,000 $466,667 $533,333 $5,466,667 2019-20 $1,000,000 $6,000,000 $466,667 $533,333 $5,466,667 2020-21 $1,000,000 $6,000,000 $466,667 $533,333 $5,466,667 2021-22 $3,000,000 $6,000,000 $466,667 $2,533,333 $3,466,667 2022-23 $0 $0 $466,667 -$466,667 $466,667 2023-24 $0 $0 $466,667 -$466,667 $466,667 2024-25 $0 $0 $466,667 -$466,667 $466,667 2025-26 $0 $0 $466,667 -$466,667 $466,667 2026-27 $0 $0 $466,667 -$466,667 $466,

That or just wait til the four years are up and he only has a limited NTC and look to trade him for whatever he can get. That said, that's three years from now and a lot will be different at that time.

Our only hope is that he turns his play around. No one in their right mind would take him right now. Here's to a 40 goal season from Loui next year! I'd be irritated if we bought him out at this point.
RWMc1
Bo played better with a veteran presence on his line. He got better with Burrows; and also when he played alongside Eriksson up until his injury. After that Bo only got 7 assists in his last 17 games. If he is to take over the #1 line he needs line-mates who can handle the best. I'm not sure if Baertschi or Boeser are there yet. Eriksson has the experience and showed chemistry with him. Veteran presence for stability is a good thing. When butt Grabner got 34 goals he was playing alongside Doug Weight. People actually said that he probably would have gotten more if he didn't have to play with the old guy. Where's the 50 goals he was supposed to get? Even the vaunted MakeBeliefs used 7 players over 30. With the amount of injuries we go through, we are lucky to have Eriksson on our team.

To be fair, Sven and Bo didn't start playing better and producing consistently until Burrows was put on their line. As I said before, after Eriksson went down Bo only got 7 assists the rest of the season. On pace for 37 assists in a season. That is not a #1 line production.
