Leafs showing the Canucks the wonders a rebuild can do, letting go of the past and moving on in just a span of 2 years. 3.) We used to make fun of the Flames/Leafs for prolonging the inevitable of not moving on from their old core and tearing it down. The Canucks are in their shoes now as the scripts have flipped and tides have turned. 4.) No more patching this thing up / trading picks for temporary fixes / wanting to add a 20 goal scorer / aiming for the playoffs. Sell what you can and maximize your return as minimal it may be. Something is always better than nothing and build from the draft - you know, that thing Benning specializes in. 5.) Have Willie fired / Green promoted to HC by new year so he has a head start with the group instead of starting from scratch the start of next season. ...funny that team tank has been saying this (to move on) for a couple years now but were viewed as haters and trolls. I see a handful of those same people have jumped on board and it's nice to see reality setting in place. Throw the fake pride away, admit we're not good enough, and start fresh / get as young as we can. And with regards to the game, despite the spanking, only positive is the fightback the boys showed. Some dirty hits and instead of times past where no one steps up, everyone stood up and answered the bell. Hopefully a bit of fire for the team to feed off of.
