gttxc
It’s nice seeing the comets do well recently. It’s great for development. I hope the get Mackewan and gaudette back soon to make a big push for the playoffs. Also, thanks for all the videos etc. Much appreciated.

Mathew Barzal
So, have Utica lost Gaudette for good now?

The Canucks will at the very least paper him down so he has a chance to play for the Calder Cup in the AHL same thing applies to MacEwen and Brisbois.
krutovsdonut
maybe he gets papered, but i think gaudette will make it very hard to get demoted again.

Connor comet
I would say that the Canucks will paper everyone down to Utica. This way if the Canucks do miss the playoffs, these guys will at least see the AHL playoffs.

The made it very clear that AG will not be playing w in the NHL that is a good point. i don't think sutter has been 100% since his first injury so if he is not fully healthy they might ease him in on the wing while keeping and dressing gaudette up the middle. Popular Post GoldenAlien
A nice update from Ryan Biech: Quote Kole Lind continues to see his role grow as the season goes along. He continues to generate shots in every game and is displaying that tenacious play that set him apart in the WHL last season. Although the production isn't quite there yet, if he keeps doing what he is doing, it shouldn't be too long until the points follow. Quote Jonathan Dahlen is currently on a five-game point streak and is looking every bit the player that won the Allsvenskan Forward of the Year and Most Valuable Player last season. For Dahlen, it has been about being an effective 200-foot player on a nightly basis and it appears that it's starting to click for the Swedish forward. Quote Another defender not known for his offence, Ashton Sautner, continues to show why he earned those five games with the Canucks last season. Sautner is poised with the puck and seems to always make the good first pass out of the zone. It allows the Comets to attack with speed, which for quite a few of the forwards, is their best way to generate offence. Bert Diesel
Re: the Spooner trade. It could be a good move for Utica. Having Gagner with the Marlies was a class move but didn't help the organization in any way. Spooner gives the Canucks and the Comets a bit of depth and if (or more likely when) the big club does not make the playoffs, Spooner, Macewen, Schenn and Gaudette can be sent down. An AHL line up of: This Comets groups should have enough depth to make a run at the Calder cup giving many of the prospects invaluable playoff experience.

Spooner was in Bakersfield of the AHL at the time of the trade so I am expecting the Canucks will have him report to Utica vs coming to Vancouver. He can fill in for Gaudette while Gaudette is up with the big club.

At the moment b/c of Virtanen, Sutter, and Baertschi injuries, I think there is room on the roster for Spooner. When one of those guys gets healhty, they can send Spooner down. He is highly unlikely to be claimed on waivers because of his salary so the club doesn't need to worry (it would help their cap anyways) about sending him down later. I'm hoping Gaudette stays up longer and ends the season in Utica if the big team doesn't make the playoffs. Same for Brisebois, Schenn, Macewen.

I will have to pay to watch some Utica hockey this year for their playoffs with a line up like that!!

I guess Spooner is taking JV's spot, McEwen and Gaudette are in for the other two. So he probably gets a look tonight, no?
