Typically signings are announced in the first few days of free agency - coveted UFAs are often signed immediately. CapFriendly shows some 15.5M in cap space with far too many contracts. Obviously some contracts will get moved but price might go up / return might go down if come 1 July the Canucks end up too close to the cap. The bigger point though is the contract. These guys arent being traded because of there usefulness on the ice. Both are bottom 6 guys at this point. And unfortunately for us the term remaining with Loui is going to be tough. This Marleau trade didnt make moving Loui any easier.
