What about trading LE for Backes with a small sweetener or retention by us or Frans Nielson from Detroit? Or for James Neal and we get a mid round pick from Calgary? We add something and take Turris from nashville, they save 1 or 2 years of the same cap hit? Okposo from Buffalo, we add something? % retained for Victor Rask? for Z. Smith, helps Ottawa reach cap floor? Oh ya, guess I should mention Lucic if Edm retains 1m or gives us a prospect or 2nd round pick for the additional year. Happens every year. We wonder about whether there's enough space for the young guys on the roster and then half the team gets injured and they end up playing, anyway. Very good outcomes imo for a guy that becomes the 3LHD - who'll probably be a good partner for Stecher.
